Hitting left when shooting

Hey guys,

I'm hitting left about 2 or 3 inches when firing. I've tried moving my finger over the trigger more and it doesn't seem to matter. Doesn't matter what gun I use. Wife shoots dead nuts center with said guns [emoji35] [emoji35] [emoji35] [emoji35]

I dry fire don't seem to jerk. A friend says I'm dipping the front of the gun when I pull the trigger.

Am I not pulling the trigger hard enough or something? Any ideas on what to do? Am I trying to hard to shoot good and messing things up?

What can I do to isolate the concern.

You'll get a bunch of suggestions on what it may be. When you get all of them systematically figure which ones may apply to you.

In my experience this mostly occurs when the shooter does have the support arm (left for you) completely locked out. Any bend, curvature or lack of lock in your elbow or wrist will allow the recoil to follow the path of least resistance and the firearm will pull to the support side.

with todays technology. have someone video your hand shooting.
most likely its your trigger finger.

Have your wife load a mag for you(no peeking) with a random snap cap in there amongst live rounds and then video your hand while shooting. Do this two or three times and then analyze what the issue is.

Agree with Baih, most likely trigger finger (pushing to the left when applying pressure instead of drawing straight to rear).

Focus on pressing your finger straight back towards your nose.

Shoot a few mags one handed. You may find the issue.

There are some good suggestions on here. It is possible to figure it out as you go on your own, but having a credible coach/instructor working with you for a session will really ramp you up. Having a second session will affirm the lessons and provide an opportunity to reinforce techniques and stair step into advanced lessons.

I had the same problem. An instructor told me to move my right foot back a little bit and then my shots moved towards the center.

You're "milking" the gun. Tighten your grip a little bit.

Do you shoot weaver or Isosceles?
What distance are you shooting?

Did you shoot the group in the box outlines with masking tape? Or the group around the bullseye?

Do you close your left eye when you shoot right handed or do you shoot with right eye closed or with both open?

I agree too. I shoot my Glock and Shield just fine, but with the longer Kahr trigger I tend to pull them left. Probably need to work on trigger control.

I shoot with shoulders square thumbs forward, feet shoulder with apart and slight lean forward.

That was 10 yards.

I shot all the holes.

Left eye closed right eye opened.
