drugged up BGs: why we need hicap CCWs

Watch the 1 min video at the link below. I count LEOs firing 11 shots to stop the 1 BG.

Fitzroy Davies, from Wolverhampton, described how officers gunned down one of the Cambrils jihadis and filmed the moment he rose to his feet in a scene he compared to a 'horror film'.

He said: 'He must have been on drugs. He took the first round of shots he fell on the floor, and then within two seconds, I thought I was watching a film, one of them horror films, the guy just stood up. He was taunting, smiling, laughing and he carried on walking to the police, and then they gave it to him again, a couple more shots and then he fell to the ground'.

He said that his suicide belt 'looked fake', adding: 'It looked like he was wearing Coke cans on him'.

ISIS has been feeding its fighters cheap super-amphetamine pills called Captagon, used to induce euphoria and increase adrenaline during their murderous missions.

I do have 15-round STANDARD capacity magazines in my EDC/CCW and on my person. Please do not call them "high capacity." All that does is lend support to the left when they state that anything over 10-rounds is "high capacity."

On a sidenote, all of my magazines for my G19 were purchased before 2000, so for the time being my STANDARD capacity magazines which hold 15 rounds are legal to carry in my Glock when I CCW with it.

I am fortunate enough to be exempt but agree on the verbiage of calling them standard instead of high cap.

He was shot with 9mm, so very shortly the 9mm bashers will be joining in here.

(I like 9mm and .40SW - but I like this image even more; stolen from another calgunner in the SIG P320 drop test thread)

Two to the center mass. And if they get up, one to the CPU.

Anybody know what the civilized rules are for proper handgun ammo in the UK? I wouldn't be surprised if they were carrying FMJ rounds. In that case, I would expect that it would take a half-dozen mid-bore handgun hits to make a suitable impression.

You don't have to be doped up to keep going after a direct hit to the thorax. Look at deer that are smaller than an average human that have their heart blown out with a high-powered rifle and still take off running. I don't remember the number but supposedly a human can suffer a complete loss of blood flow and keep going for something like 15 seconds before unconsciousness. Absent a central nervous system hit, no handgun (or smaller rifle) round will instantly incapacitate.

As for the "Wups, better try something else" rounds, I'm with the school that calls for shots to the hip area to break down mobility. The head is too hard to hit, and just too hard, for most shooters to hit reliably. It's likely going to be bobbing and weaving in addition to the person moving/running. Even with some NFL level jukes the hip area will be easier to hit than the chest, let alone the head.
I meant, it is my opinion that...

Honestly I would not normally carry mags larger than 10rds on me for CCW even if I could (which, actually, I can, since the ban has the injunction). My CCW-listed guns are all designed for either 6rd, 7rd, or 10rd magazines.

But I agree that we should have the option to carry larger magazines if we felt so inclined. There are times I *might* occasionally choose to carry a 92FS with 18rd MecGars, but unfortunately I don't have room for it on my permit When I'm in the backcountry, I do sometimes carry a 15rd mag for my G29 as my spare though, but not in the city.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.
