Call Rob Blank at RMB in Milpitas. You don't have any of that crap to put up with.

Also, has anyone noticed one of their employees ( asian guy) who always twitches and then gives a short hysterical laugh or something? It took me a while to figure out that he does it because of a medical condition. One of the first few times I saw him do that I thought he was laughing at a comment I may have made. I always get nervous when he's handling a firearm because I'm afraid his "thing" might make him squeeze the trigger.
He has Tourette's Syndrome. You get used to it after a while. he hasn't shot anybody yet.... at least, nobody important.

people with Tourette's can control it when they have to. We saw a special about one of the world's most renowned brain surgeons who has it. He walks around jumping at random and letting out loud yelps and barks..... but does control it during surgery. We couldn't stop laughing watching the guy bark like a rottweiler.

Is he brokering guns again? He did one for me some years back, but I couldn't find him when I needed another gun imported.

          To give a fair perspective:

          1) The place (like most businesses during this depression) is probably an inch above drowning.

          2) They have basically run out of ammo thanks to all the panic buying which has gobbled up all the available supply for civilian use.... and they used to make the vast majority of their money selling ammo when you rent a gun.

          3) The only place they can save money is on staffing, so there are fewer people working and probably min wage bozos are the rule rather than the exception.

I think they are in survival mode at this point and are not going to care about making ten bucks from a PPT when they are trying to push new guns to stay afloat (even if that means smooching up to gang bangers). And, yes, a lot of scummy people go through the place and it makes me nervous too. I usually keep a loaded mag in close reach when I have to sit there.

Wow, what surprises me is just how many of you actually sell your private hardware.

Again - the only reason I go there is because their range opens till midnight - but try not to go during the weekend...

                1. trust me they are not about to go broke....they are selling more guns than ever, if you are in the gun business now life is good, they also have a range in which the equipment is paid for....every thing they make from that is gravy....(ok ok they have overhead but they are not cracking a nut on new equipment)

                2. last time I was there they had ammo. they have a hugh markup on ammo...more gravy

                3. They have always for the most part been poorly staffed, look at the ammount of turnover they have. This is not a reflection on the employees just poor management practices

most gun shops dont like doing a PPT because it is a hassle and they don't make any money from it, think about it they would rather use the time to sell a gun or rent a lane......

The smart dealer does a fast and efficient PPT as a service to the customer so that they come back and spend their hard earned dollar at their store. A 3hr PPT just pisses someone off and makes them want to take their business elsewere...

Drive over right now and read the sign on the door:

                  NO AMMO CARRY OUT SALES

The few boxes they have are for rental gun use. They absolutely did make a lot of money selling ammo, and they are not selling much now.

I don't know how many new guns they are selling, they are probably reaping what profits they can from the panic buying due to anti-Obama hysteria.

If you think TM is the only one poorly staffed, you never went to National range and a lot of others I have been to.

When was this? A friend of mine just had his help in Jan 2009. I personally saw Rob in Nov 2008. All's well at his shop.

To the OP, it is generally advised to bring all the documents needed to finish a transaction. Also you have to remeber that the legal responsibility of that PPT falls on the FFL doing the transaction. Therefore it is advised that they take every step they see needed to cover thier own behinds. Now the buyer did not have a HSC card nor did he have the proper documents needed to do the transaction. thus the trip home to get his stuff, and taking the test for the HSC card.
Now i am not saying TMW does the fastest transactions, but we try our hardest to make sure nothing is wrong with that transaction.

                            TargetMasters guys are great

The guys at TargetMasters are great. Yes, they do have more paperwork than most stores, but that is not the employees' fault. That is a management decision to make sure they triple check everything. The ATF are sticklers when it comes to paperwork.

I shoot there regularly and I find the staff to be top notch, and very helpful.
