Supply Starting to Catch Up With Demand?

I'm starting to notice that there are more uppers popping up on the market (althought they still go fast), more LPK's, complete rifles...

There were also ALOT more uppers available at the Cow Palace show this weekend along with plenty 10/20 mags which no one had at the last show in January. Are these the begining signs of supply catching up with demand?

It would appear so. I actually found a .308 lower parts kit there too.

I guess it just depends on what you are looking for. No AR15 bolt catches or forward assist knobs anywhere.

The fact that the economy still hasn't started to turn around is helping as well. People are not spending as much or have already spent the bulk of the money they had budgeted/slated for firearms purchases.

With ramped up production across the board since long before the election, and the unknowns with regards to new AW legislation, I believe we're going to see an increase in components availability over the next few months. Future proposed legislation will affect price and availability in a dramatic way. If nothing glides across O's desk over the next year or two, will people relax? Maybe, but the gun community is paying such close attention to the media that it seems as though one report on MSNBC can cause a frenzy

The real question is...when will parts be available *and* go down in price. Copper and lead are both down, but bullets are up up up!

AR15 stuff is getting a little easier to source, but the prices are FAR from coming down anytime soon.

stripped lowers are a bit more reasonable because they are easy to make, simple to tool up for and people are churning them out by the 100's of thousands...

BUT, that means people will be trying to source uppers/LPK's etc. etc. etc. for those for a long long time.

the worse things get the more people will put a priority on having assembled functional rifles instead of stripped lowers and we'll continue to see parts dry up.

the ONLY reason you guys are seeing more of this stuff at the shows is because the vendors are spending tons of time/money trying to scrape product together and get it to market.

price isn't coming down any time soon, but availability will keep pace with profitability.... the better the margins are, the more time the vendors will dedicate to finding the stuff.

Lol, I am ashamed to say this, but I have been using my complete lower as a backscratcher because I cant seem to find a damn Stag 2H upper within a decent price range.

If you're going to pre-purchase you may want to go with a vendor here like Riflegear. Their prices are not out of line.

I was looking at the pre purchase options, and also looking for a used one (or two).

I will look at them, thanks for the heads up.

Lowers seem to be everywhere, uppers do pop up but are rediculous $$ pits. I'd love to finish my lowers but I'm not dropping $100 for LPKs or 650+ for standard uppers.

I'm glad I hit the bushy sale a while back for those $400 uppers.

I was hoping to find a lpk for my .308 build at the Cow but came up empty-handed. Good for you. What I learned this show was, if you see something you like, just buy it, because if you stroll around for a couple of minutes checking other vendors or talking yourself into the purchase, when you go back, it will be gone........

From where I stand, and all I want to do is 1) Support the guns I have (ammo/parts) and 2) Build a FAR/DPMS 16' .308, I will have plenty of time to enjoy my other hobbies.
