Interesting. Wonder what's up. Always sad to lose a range.

        Heard from where/whom?

So we are losing 50% of the local indoor target facilities in two months time? First SDFTC in Poway and now ASC in Kearney Mesa-not good. .....

Went to that place one time... Decent crowd of people shooting.

The guy behind the counter was real gruff not social guy. Little to no selection of firearms for purchase.... not really helpful at all.

Hate to see a place close but they weren't exactly trying to stay in business either the way I saw it. In today's day and age customer service really is king, I feel like they older ranges forget that aspect. With all the new patrons, they need to be more welcoming and dynamic.

SD shooting range is pretty close and always on a wait so.. I guess it's similar to what happened in Poway being next to Poway weapons and gear.

Just a few gunstores in San Diego County in the last few months.

                El Cajon Gun Exchange
                JD Machine Tech
                (Maybe) ASC
                SDFTC

Just the beginning in my opinion. The market is overbought, most buyers are stockpiling ammo and holding off on gun purchases. I hope that most can make it, but I don't see it getting any better with the new ammo laws in 2018. I have been investing in ammo slowly since 2013. I just don't see a need to visit a gun store that much after 2018. Except for cleaning supplies....

Out of curiosity, where did you hear this news/information from? I don't see anything posted online, but I also don't visit ASC anymore.

Hate to see ASC close. Went to SD gun range on Tuesday night at last week at 8pm to try it out and there was a 30 min wait and really crowded with a bunch of young people in the 18 to early 20's crowd so I just left. Did not like it at all. Next day went to ASC and atmosphere was as usual, so much more relaxed and it was a older and more mature crowd shooting. Like a breath of fresh air.

I'm in my 20's, but I understand what you're saying. I went to TGRSD on a Friday night @ 7:00, completely full of people who had no idea what they're doing, who cared more about taking a pictures and videos with a gun rather than learning how to properly shoot. I could even see some of the frustration on the RSO's faces.

Exactly my point brother! The young crowd was there taking selfies and pictures everywhere. So crowded that you couldn't even walk around leisurely to look around. It was really annoying. It reminded me why I always go to ASC. The employees are not bad either at ASC. I have gotten used to them over the years. They are actually quite nice and chill.

Gun sales are off -20% from last year. It's the Trump gun slump.

How dare young people try to have a good time at a gun range!
