    65 Hi Points & Counting

I started out over 4 years ago by walking into a LGS and buying a new Hi Point 995TS. Well of course, I had to then go back & buy the C9 pistol to accompany my Carbine.
I joined a Hi Point forum to learn more about my new hobby, and found a few of the members were on this "who can find the rarest HP" contest, so I decided to join them. You can see where this is going, "right"? My picture is a few months old & I have since found yet another rare model!
I have created a Face Book page documenting my collection in order of manufacture date (to the best of my ability).

I also started a History 101 page on the HPFF forum, if interested?

That's a lot of Hi Points, something tells me you may not be King of the Hi Point forums. But I'm pretty sure you are the King of Hi Points on Calguns, that's a pretty impressive collection.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

              It's called OCD.

To think of what I could have had is not the question. 30 of another brand of gun vs 10 of yet another brand of gun?

To think of what I will collect next, is the question!
I already have coin collections as well as rocks, Beatles albums, shoes, the list goes on?

What make some "rare"? And how much does "rare" go for?

It would be pretty weird and boring if we all collected the same thing. People have different passions that's what makes the world interesting.

I like collecting watches also, but because of other hobbies (guns being one) and family commitments no way I can step into the Rolex and Omega world. So I collect Citizen, Seiko, G-Shocks and other lower cost watches. They may not be Rolex's but I still enjoy the heck out of it.

Ok, I knew I was NOT the only sufferer of OCD!
It really doesn't matter what we collect, but it has to be something we enjoy? Some people collect McDonald's Fun Meal toys, Beanie Babies, Match Box cars, etc?
I have met (internet mostly) other gun collectors. Some collect S&W's, M1 Carbines, 32 Caliber hand guns, you name it! Some of these collections dwarf my little 65 guns. But by being a collector, your level of knowledge on the subject becomes vast. I get info request everyday from somebody. Either for help in trouble shooting a problem or a suggestion on a specific gun purchase. It is a lot of fun & I enjoy doing it. I will admit, that to be a Hi Point fan, I must wear my THICK SKIN outfit most everyday!

My most recent purchase was a C9 Compensator. To find one on a gun auction page was not that significant. But as I was scrolling through the pictures, I noticed it had a Strassell Machine Inc. roll stamp on the slide. Well, Strassell's took over for Beemiller in January 2015. Beemiller discontinued the C9 Compensator in 2006. So, after some investigation, I found that the seller was a LGS that from time to time would send a Hi Point back to factory for a FREE repair before selling the gun. This particular gun was deemed faulty by the factory & replaced it with a brand new gun, with the newer Strassell roll stamp. This is like a double stamped coin or something. It may be "THE" only one or a very limited number of these. Any way's it's mine now!

So you bought a Hi Point 995TS and now you have 65 Hi Points.

I recently bought a High Point 995TS from a Calgunner and paid for it to be shipped to Oregon. He was planning on turning it in to the police for destruction and I bought it to save it.

Now I'm scared to pick it up from my FFL. What if what happened to you happens to me? What if the 995TS is the gateway drug to Hi Point addiction?
                            Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

I have called Hi Point the gateway drug to my "Gun Addiction" on several different occasions!
Hi Point is not my only gun collection, but it is my largest though.
