Drives me crazy when people bash Hi Points, particularly when they haven't shot one.

I don't own one and have never shot one, but I did handle a few at the local store and I read reviews from trusted people that the guns were "honest guns" that did their job and that customer service stood behind their product. The trigger that I tried wasn't horrible in any way and I wouldn't even call it "bad" - there are worse out of the box on higher priced guns. That to me is a definition of "inexpensive" (vs. "cheap").

Let us know how they shoot. At lest the ones you've tried.

Also, it's a win-win. You save a lot of money on guns so you can buy a pretty large boat, then you already have all the boat anchor(s) you'll ever need...

      (Just joking.)

One does not need to shoot or handle a particular firearm to justify making a wise decision not to own one. Especially a Hi point or similar.

Lots of folks collect stuff that I would consider to be ugly. Mach O Melvin is one of those folks. At least Hi-Points have the rep for being dependable shooters so you've got 60-odd of them. That counts for something, and something ain't nothing, which is better than not having anything.

I'm just joking with you OP. That is an amazing collection no matter how you look at it!
I always think of firearms as a good investment even if they're not from world renowned manufacturers. They are always worth something to someone as long as they're working.

In complete honesty I would like to own even one Hi Point 9 mm carbine or two. I hear good things and the carbines interest me more than the handguns. They are just not what my eye looks at when I'm gun shopping.

Can you give us any tips when looking at buying a new or used Hi Point carbines or even what we should be looking for in case we find the holy grail of rare hi Points?

It took me about 4-6 hours a day 7 days a week, for almost 3 years. I have had numerous conversations with the factory and they know of no other collection to this extent. I have one of each model they made from 1987 to 2015. I have several models after that, but not a complete set.

The Chrome model 995's & the Classic Camo's are the hard to find models. The letter "A" in the serial number is the 1st generation of the 9mm Carbines. HP made the 4095 in the classic stock from 2006 to 2009, before switching over to the TS model stock exclusively. The last 6 months of production, they issued the LRHO feature in the Classic stock. These are hard to find, because you can't see it, without shooting it. They also made a Classic Camo model in the 4095, also hard to find.
The Muddy Girl Pink Carbines are the fastest selling newer models, and the least amount built. Those would be my 1st newer models to collect, if & when I start back up again? lol

My 995TS is the most accurate pistol caliber carbine I have ever shot. And I just got a C9 to store in the airplane survival kit.

I'll be honest, the 1st HP I bought bnib. It gave me problems right out of the box. But an older HP fan told me to dip my magazine in a glass of clean motor oil, wipe it down & leave loaded for a few days. so a week later, I took it back out to shoot, and it worked perfectly. NO I don't polish feed ramps or tweek magazine lips, like you might read on the internet. My job as a customer is to work hard and make $$$ to buy more Hi Points. HP's job's to make sure my guns work the way they are supposed to. If they can't explain it to me over the phone, my gun is on the way back to the factory. I can change firing pins, extractors, recoil springs, most common problems in FTF & FTE issues myself. I will say I have obtained lot of gunsmithing experience with HP's. But I would never have worked on any of my more expensive guns before I took a few of my Hi Points apart. Everybody should be able to dis-assemble & re-assemble the own guns. I feel the 40 caliber pistol & carbines are the most accurate, but that may just be me? Hi Point are very accurate out of the box. I have purchased other guns, and right out of the box & I'm spending 30 minutes to sight the gun in.

Consistency. It's only a virtue if you're not a screwup. There is something to be said in doing things wrong the exact same way time after time. It's not a good thing but still....
