No kids, no bedside safe on 2nd floor....I use a strong $12 gun magnet and it works great. Easy to grab, hidden from view

I sometimes forget to take it back out. Im wondering if anyone has any better ideas?
"I try to remember to place it back in my safe...." is not safe enough. As noted by another, get a gun vault witb a simplex lock.

I hope that the intruder then runs away since I'd rather have them leave than to have a shoot out.
Good idea with the panic button on the car....seems like a smart idea especially half asleep it'll wake your butt up fast and hopefully the intruder high tails it outta there in a hurry

I take a pistol out of my safe each night before I go to sleep and put it on the nightstand next to the bed. I rotate between pistols but make sure it has a light attached to it.

I put it back in the safe in the morning.

I thought everyone keeps a handgun under the pillow and if something were to happen, you grab both gun and pillow and use the pillow as a suppressor by shooting through it?

OP, IMO buy a 'quick access' safe. Costco had a sale on them earlier this month. Forgot the brand, damnit.

                    Just a suggestion...

I have one of those little fingerprint safes under my bed... I do have to admit to keeping the Glock with a 17 round mag and night sights in it.... but there is a 1911 next to it at least.

Get one of the Canon velocity vaults from amazon or next time they are on sale at costco. Open at night, close in the morning.
Its an expensive hobby, but more expensive when you try and convince yourself you don't need what you really want.

What, no one sleeps with it on? Surely I can't be the only one...

I put mine in my lockable night stand since i have a 2.5 year old. I unlock it when i am ready for bed and lock it when i grab my keys to go to work in the morning.
