    CA compliant Honey Badger?

This was posted on another forum:
As drenched as they are in National Firearms Act (NFA) goodness, my friends at Q are experts in all flavors of science and innovation.Even when it comes to building something as polar opposite to suppressors and short barreled rifles – such as a California compliant Honey Badger. Now, I know what you are thinking: in a Honey Badger’s DNA is the information for a short, suppressed, semiautomatic rifle platform that focus on silence and compactness.None of which are currently legal in the great state of California.

They are claiming it is CA legal.

I think that it isn't a Semi Auto by definition.

I am guessing that it uses some kind of mechanism in between battery and trigger press to make it not a Semi.

    Thoughts?

You're probably right on the Semi aspect. The graphic doesn't specify it is Semi-Auto.

So being that it's center-fire, has a detachable mag, and doesn't require disassembly, its adjustable gas block most likely locks out all gas pressure, making it effectively a bolt action.

    My .02 cents, anyway.

      Correct about the graphic.

I don't htink it can be a semi, but I think that whatever mechanism they came up with is easier and faster to use than a bolt action.

I think it will get classified as a "Lever" or "Pump" action personally.

Yep. Ok for bench shooting but not fun off hand.

              IDK.

If the safety flips on after each shot, couldn't you just hold the safety in the "Fire" position?

I still would only fire after a device is engaged so still not semi. The trigger alone would not cause the rifle to fire.
That would make it a viable and pretty fast shooting gun.

              IDK but I am hopeful!

Prob just like Britain's SGC lever release rifle.

Consider a 1911 style safety for the offhand...
                  Maybe on a VFG?

Standard AR safety position would work just fine, I think.

No need to reinvent the wheel.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke speech of 23 April 1770, "Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents," delivered to the House of Commons.

That looks pretty enticing. How about the 29" length with stock collapsed, is that kosher in CA? I'm always confused with CA's OAL rules.

                              It's not a semi auto.
