A vice or their armorer's block and trigger block make things a lot easier. Videos are pretty straight forward. Go slow. Take your time. Rewind when needed. You'll be fine. If you get stuck, there's plenty of folks around who have done this before.

Probably too late to help the OP as it sounds like he already placed his order but Lanbos Armory pretty much has the best prices around on Apex Trigger Kits and Parts.

          This.

I used to shoot low and left all the time. Fixed it with a lot of dry fire exercise...trigger finger isolation exercises. If you squeeze your grip more while you're also trying to pull the trigger, you shoot low and left.

I had the same problem with mine until I tried putting my finger further into the trigger.

Also being a 1911 person the flat handle of the Shield took some getting used to. When I became more consistent with my support hand grip pressure it all came together.

I came upon those solutions dry firing at a real close point of aim to be able to notice movement and verify my theories were correct by lack of movement. I wasn't having elevation problems, all windage

OK so the kit came in but i did not like the Spring that it came with for the trigger it felt stiffer than the original spring. The brake is way better now but the initial pull was stiffer so i kept the original spring on it. Will there be any issues with the original spring ??? Here's the kit i got.

I am a die hard 1911 fan. It was my first gun and have shot thousands of rounds with it and can be pretty accurate with it as long as I do my part. A few years ago, I bought an XD-m in 45. Always wanted one. Finally got one and got it to the range. But, my accuracy went in the dirt and so did my shots! I put about 400-500 rounds down range and still wasn't liking it due to the trigger. Went back and forth about selling it thinking it just didn't like me. But, I just kept shooting the bugger and finally something must have clicked (or went bang!) since all of a sudden, my accuracy improved dramatically. Now, I've got another XD 45 (4" Service model) and we're getting along just fine! Probably going to add an XD 45 Tactical to the stable soon (for the wife). SHE is crazy accurate with my XD 45!!! She shoots a Shield in 9 mm normally, but wants an XD now too.

But, when I go back to shooting my 1911, more comfortable and more accurate than the XD or XD-m, just not a huge difference like before.

So, I guess what I meant to say is to get some instruction and shoot the snot out of it.

                Happy shooting and be safe!

I'm not sure you meant to get that kit as the one you linked to in Post #9 is a different kit.

Your link in Post#5 and #9 is to the Forward Set Sear kit...FSS

Your picture in Post #21 is the Action Enhancement Kit... D/C AEK

The D/C AEK is meant as a first level clean up of the M&P trigger, the FSS is meant to shorten the takeup and over travel...more like a 1911

Yeah I believe it's diffrent. But it is all the same parts. I replaced the trigger sear. Sear spring. Removed rear sight I changed out the parts in the slide also. The brake and take up feel way better. I just did not like the trigger springs tension in the kit. So I used the original spring. Feels way better now.
Just want to make sure that won't be an issue.

Well just took it to the range. And I must say my low left issue is gone. Love the new trigger and believe I might have found a new love in this gun with apex trigger.
Now I need to get the kit for my shield for sure.

                        Actually they're not.

The FSS and the AEK use different Sears and Triggers. That is what allows the FSS to reduce travel before and after the break.

But...if you're happy with the result you've gotten, there isn't any reason to get the better kit

Any places in orange county sell the apex kits and do installs?

On a side note since the OP said he doesn't like flat faced triggers. Thats how i felt about them for the longest time, i thought they were dumb looking too flashy. Then I put one in my glock and holy hell, it feels sooo nice, I want a flat faced trigger on everything now haha..

With the Apex Duty/Carry kit, you can mix and match with factory springs to get it down close to 3.5 lbs. As you've already found, the factory trigger spring is lighter than the Apex spring. You can also try the factory sear spring to go even lighter. Then Apex offers a competition spring kit that's even lighter still.

So the sear spring is also tighter than the stock sear spring ?? The purple one ?? So far i like it how it is but wouldnt mind testing it a bit lighter.
