    M&P Trigger question

Ok guys so i have a Full Size M&P 40 and A 9mm shield I tent to shoot low and left with both and after some work i get a bit better but its just a pain and i really want to have more fun with these guns than constantly having to make sure my fingers are exact.

My SA Emp and my New RIA 1911 shoot great. So im trying to get a 1911 type of trigger pull from the M&Ps

I know most people swap out to Apex triggers but i seen they have a couple different ones. I dont plan on carrying the full size so i want a lighter trigger pull on it but the shield i hopefully plan on carrying in the future.

So what trigger would you guys recommend for each gun.

    Thanks in advance.

A 3lb on non carry gun and 4lb trigger on your carry gun.

A flatter apex carry trigger on the shield where its bowed and a complete flatty on the full size might give you that tactile 1911 trigger feel that you are missing

I have a flat apex on my M&P full size 9 and a Duty carry on my shield. I highly recommend them.

Long story short, M&P full size if non carry I would go flat, if carry Curved duty carry.

You can always get super technical and do a curved Forward set sear too or do a flat with a higher weight trigger spring too... I never felt mine were too light though... PM Me if you need help as there a lot of different options, especially since the new 2.0 is out too.

Let me know if you want to try one...I'm in SD

Not a big fan of flat faced triggers. Would this kit be good ?

Ya that's a good one if you prefer the curved face. They make an aluminum that has less flex if you prefer. I like the rigid feeling of aluminum but that's just me. The forward set sear is the big part that makes the biggest difference, and the rounded striker block.

IMO the Shield has a good trigger and no need to start swapping parts.

The narrow width takes getting used to tho.
Your shooting will improve with use.

I have to remind myself to focus on my hold going from a G26 to Shield.

              Nice little carry piece.

dont do flat unless you already have and like the flat triggers. Personally I am not a fan and think they are a fad.
I do however have the duty/carry kit with the polymer curved trigger and love it.

I thought it was super easy to install except for the striker block; you have to remove the rear sight to access the usb. If you have a vice and experience with sight tapping it is easy enough.

if you don't I would pay a gunsmith to install it, better than having sights that are off or misaligned.

While doing the sear you can remove the magazine disconnect too and make your field stripping way easier.

                            I agree with this^^^^

But be honest with yourself, the real issue is your inconsistent grip.

This is a very common problem as we transition down from a full size metal gun. I was totally convinced it was the gun until a RO made a fool out of me.

While upgrading the hardware might mask it it will not fix it.

Spend 30 minutes with a qualified instructor working on your grip.

You won't regret it. Then once you fix your grip you can fix the triggers.

Good grip and good trigger will consistently paint a very nice picture on your target.
