Question about Transporting Firearm to Gun Range

Now, going to the range with an obvious amount of firearms (long and pistol) and ammo, may cause Uber to not give you a ride or to ban you altogether.

I have not been dropped at the range, but I have taken Uber to or from the airport several times with my cased guns. I can think of three times I was asked what was in the case. The first was a non-Native English speaker who looked irritated I had firearms in the case, but cared more about the money than her "beliefs", one was a young dude who picked me and the family up at the tire shop when we had a flat and had to leave the car there. he asked "Are those ammo boxes" and I said yes and loaded the trunk and half the backseat full of cased guns and gear. He had zero issue with the guns being in the car. Another was when I went to the airport and due to the size of my gun case and other bags ordered an Uber Black SUV. Driver asked what was in the case, I told him guns and he said cool and away we went.
I have probably been as candid other times but those were the ones that come to mind.

Transport is always locked and unloaded. Ammo can be in the same locked case, just not inserted in the gun.

In a car there are no destination requirements.

Step out of a car or uber ride and on FOOT you now have destination requirements.

You can legally walk with gun case to

1. Home
2. Work
3. Hotel room
4. Campsite
5. gun store or gun range
6. other homes or locations where the owner gives you permissions

You CANNOT walk thru the Mall or stop for Lunch (on foot) with your locked
Gun case.

Here in California, its best not to transport in a range bag or other container that
Screams GUN INSIDE. (Even if locked) who wants a police search?

I use a Leatherette Briefcase from Staples....both guns and ammo and targets, shooting glasses...all fit inside. Being locked it requires a search warrant to open
and looks normal and business like when walking.

I'm going to try this tomorrow. I have a very discrete backpack and my case,eyes,ears and ammo can fit with no one being the wiser. I looked at the WTP on the map and will report my experience. Thanks all!

I am sure that shouldn't be a problem. Take Uber/lyft to the front of the waste company, stroll into the range. When done, walk over to front of Waste company & get back in your Uber or whatever they called those rides..... Yeap I guess you just finished your shift early at the Waste disposal Company....agh agh ...thanks for keeping alamurder county clean enjoy ur range time.

Uber and Lyft are liberal companies with a silicon valley mindset. Who can tell what they really intend with their policies.

As a side note, a recent study concluded that during peak week day hours, a average of 5,700 Uber & Lift cars are roaming the streets of San Francisco.

LA is considerably larger then SF in population & geographic area. So, it would not be surprising if they have more. although I have seen no data on the estimated number of Uber & Lyft drivers operating there. Couple of weeks ago, I had a UBER driver in SF tell me he was from the Sacramento area.
