More collectibles are destroyed in a single gun "buyback" in Los Angeles than are ruined by all Hollywood productions in a year. No one is going to destroy a real 1851 Colt Navy revolver for a film shoot but the city doesn't care how rare or historical a gun is when they send it to the scrapyard. They'd send Hitler's suicide Luger to the smelter rather than see it go to a museum.

I have a Facebook friend that posted a Gun Buyback flyer.

Yeah those aren't even real guns in movies most the time. John Wick use real guns but they also show people walking through the mall shooting each other with silencers. Typical Hollywood nonsense thinking silencers actually silence is a gun when all it does is just make it not deafening.

Funny, John Milius has said that he really wanted the M29 from Dirty Harry that was all scuffed up from being tossed onto the sidewalk, cuz that was proof that it had been in Eastwood's hands on screen.
