Put 'em in the truck and get the hell out of here, what are you waiting for? If you're not driving the truck yourself the company might have some regulations of their own. I believe the new law in Texas is that you may have a loaded firearm in your car without a CCW, so once you cross that state line .

What part of Texas? I grew up in the Dallas area. It has its good and bad points, but I'd move back again. The gun laws are pretty damn nice.

If you'll be driving to TX as part of your move, then the best way is to transport them with you in your vehicle so you know the whereabouts of them at all times. You might want to talk Msage on here about his recent move to TX.

Just keep the guns and ammo separate. If firearms are riding in the passenger compartment you might want to have guns locked under key. No loaded clips anywere. As soon as you hit the Arizona border, THROW THE BULLET BUTTONS OUT THE WINDOW!!!!

I love Boerne. It's a great little town (and where I would live if moving back to the SA area).

Bernie is a very nice place to live.

I moved my collection from the SF peninsula to Flower Mound (N of D/FW airport); filled the back end of a long bed truck. Ammo separate from guns & moving pad & camper shell over everything.

Enjoy the Hill Country. Wear cotton in the summer, yard work done before noon, drink a LOT of water, etc.. Summer is a biatch if you haven't experienced humidity, you get better at dealing with it but you'll never get used to it. REAL bbq makes up for it, though.

I went to HS in Flower Mound (Marcus). I really liked the area, but it's much more developed now than when I left. The heat is rough, but you get used to it, and everything is air conditioned anyway.

My dad lives in Boerne. His house is where most of my guns stayed when I moved to Cali. San Antonio is very nearby, but you're far enough from most of the big city and strip mall crap to have some self-respect.

I'm intensely curious: what're you gonna be doing in Boerne?

FYI, Bexar county is pronounced "bey-har".
