1400 posts and yes im still going to be asking questions, i want to make triple dog sure im in the right and leave nothing to chance when it comes to transporting my rifle to and from the range, sinse Hoffmang kindly let us in on what happend in the case of a local arrest, it has given me and some others here piece of mind. so back of with the stupid remarks unless you have something positive to add to the thread. Bullet button equiped ARs supposed to be fixed mag, non detachable. If a popo sees you have an open magwell he/she might think that you have a detachable magazine AR even though you removed it legally with a tool.

Yes by all means express yourself im all for freedom of speech, but do i have time to research the many past threads - no i dont, so i created my own based on a very recent event. Your response was to bash me with the 1400 remark, actually its less, but according to you there are many threads that cover this subject, which tells me you know much about the subject, yet you spend your energy not by adding to the debate that might answer not just my questions but the questions from other calgunners with similar concerns. Don't drive with a cracked windshield or broken head/tail lights.. $300 is a lot easier to chew on than being pulled over & ticketed & possibly going thru all these questioning, etc.

Because if you're pulled over by a poorly informed cop, you can easily demonstrate that you have a non-detachable empty magazine on your rifle.

If the magazine is separated from a BB-equipped rifle, you know that you have a non-detachable magazine, I know you have a non-detachable magazine, but do you really want to take the time and trouble, right at that moment, to explain to the cop that you've temporarily detached the non-detachable magazine from the gun?

I don't.

It's all about making it more obvious to a minimally informed LEO that he's seeing what he expects to see.

We will. You may have to remind me. There was a sadly quite plausible path but we can't disclose the details yet.

I'm a noob to ARs and the BB but have downloaded all the help docs (SacPD letter, flowchart, penal code, etc.), not to mention having called the local DA and the Bureau of Firearms myself to try and get first hand info on the BB.

I do not mind this topic being repeated in this forum, just in case there's some new nugget of information, or a new incident creating precedence (as in this post), that might be useful to me.

As long as the poster isn't egregiously lazy, and I don't think that's the case here, I have no problem with this question coming up repeatedly. If I'm tired of reading about it I can just skip the post.
