Bringing guns through Canada

Going up to Alaska for a month or so. Driving up through Canada then back down.


It looks like quite a headache reading through. Does anyone know if a SCAR 17 (Ca neutered) and a Glock 23 are "Prohibited"?

From what I'm reading anything on your record take a lot longer. Would a 7 year old possession charge with no conviction hinder or stop this?

Leaving in two weeks. I'm getting pretty concerned about showing up at the border and something going wrong.

UPS or FedEx to your location. Legal to ship guns from yourself to yourself across state lines.

This is the first detail you will need to address. If you dont have documentation proving you were not convicted you may very well be denied entry. Seems foolish to ship items until this is resolved.

As for the charge what system are they using to look this stuff up? As far as I know it only appears on a DOJ livescan.

How can I find out if I might be denied entry? I tried applying beforehand online, but it all says as a US citizen I'm exempt from needing an Eta form.

Yes on both. RCMP ruled SCAR not importable for civilian sales, Glock 23 has a barrel less than the legal minimum length of 105mm.

Must have passport or card. My son works for film company and he is only tech that can travel to Canada other techs have dui's and r prohibited.

My friend 2 years ago was driving to Alaska to hunt and had a single shot rifle he brought along. A restraining order from back in the early 90's was enough to make him a prohibited person even though he was never charged with domestic violence. Ex wife threw that on there just to make his life miserable so he ended up having to fly to Alaska and have his friends drive with his rifle through for him.

Under Obama everything is now shared with everybody so your records will show up and you will be denied.

Really? DUI means no entry into Canada?

It does if you go to Windsor to film. I never had one and I have no trouble going to Victoria or Vancouver.

Wow, so what happens if a poor schlepp has a DUI. Can he not go to Canada ever Again? I had never heard of this one before. Just asking.
