Saiga 7.62x39 converted to a selectfire AK47 with Polish furniture installed.
Traded a few AR15 parts for it.
It is not pretty but it works. Needs some rivets redone.
About $500 in parts I had lying around collecting dust.

Tell us all about the last gun you bought, go into details. What, where, when, how much.

Last gun purchased was a Colt .38 made in 1935. It did live in California for quite a while. Seller was grandson of owner, and noted that his granddad probably stuffed it in his zoot suit. It came with a Pachmayr grip extender and trigger shoe, both from the same era. The pistol is pristine, not even a buggered screw.

Seller created a thread in the handguns forum here, asking for approximate value, and asking if anyone thought $350 was reasonable. He was also advised a couple posts later that he was in the wrong forum. I replied that even though it was not the correct forum, I'd still TAKE IT.

It now lives in wife's (no pics) nightstand loaded with treasury ammo. Seller wanted $350 and really did his due diligence. While I was doing mine, I followed his trail through half a dozen websites. I estimated shipping would be $50, it ended up at $48. I mailed him a USPS MO with my C&R license signed copy and the gun showed up on my front porch about 4 days later. Interesting that seller's ffl did not ask for adult sig service. That said, my neighborhood doesn't have issues with stolen packages from front porches.

If my sister-in-law looked like the one to whom I think you're referring, I wouldn't have bought her a gun. More likely, something like liposuction and a lifetime subscription to Jenny Craig.

Also please show us pictures of fat women, air conditioners, streets with no sidewalks, and diagrams of how to apply talcum powder to one's genitals.

I've seen fewer morbidly obese women here in Idaho than in California...and that's MUCH fewer. Based on my and more than a few others experience, I'd rate Texas (Dallas / Fort Worth) and Oklahoma (Ok City and Tulsa) far above any other areas in the 50 states based on upkeep, dress, and a general sense of class and decorum. Somewhat different than in California in that men respect women, and the respect is returned.

Air conditioners are not at all uncommon here. I live on a paved street with no sidewalks. As I type this, there's a big-*** semi with trailer parked. It dropped off a swather that's now cutting neighbor's alfalfa field. Somehow, I find that a lot more livable than a 6 lane street covered by strip malls and chain restaurants.

About the talcum powder...I'd ask your Dad or Mom, whoever is still around.

After getting my DL to prove residence I went down and purchased a Coonan 45. No waiting, it was in stock. 1 hour later I walked out after the BGC. The store was busy and I had no problem waiting an hour instead of waiting forever for it to be o.k. to purchase in California. My wife told me the other day she was glad we made the move. The house is being built and will be finished in a few months. I am a happy camper.

Yesterday at the Portland, OR gun show I got this custom rifle; Remington 700 action, 6.5-284, AICS chassis for $1150




and also this S&W Model 29-2, pinned and recessed, target hammer, trigger, and stocks, for $875. Those are fingerprints and smudges on the glossy finish.



No sales tax, first background check was $10, second one was $5, brought them home the same day. I also bought a reactive steel target so my son and I can shoot at it in the backyard. And some gun books. And some barbecue sauce and spices. I stopped at a fishing and outdoor store on the way home from the gun show and they had a shelf full of 500-round bricks of Federal American Eagle .22LR for $25 each, like it was the good old days. I bought 2 bricks, and a box of Federal target .22LR ammo.

The previous weekend I got an all-matching Yugo M48 Mauser with a mirror bore at a local auction for $220 (no pictures).

The week before that I got a factory new Kimber Ultra II Bel Air in 9mm for $870.

Just bought another Springfield XD mod 2 .45 sub compact. This one in black, the first one was in FDE. I paid 499.99 + tax and $6 background check (not referred to DROS in CO). Total OTD was $552 and some change.

guns weren't the only reason i left CA, although it did factor in my decision

since i left i've bought ONE gun, my FNS-9C - other than that, i just removed the bullet button off my AR15

oh, bought some standard capacity magazines for my AR and a couple of handguns that i didn't already have them for

some of my guns already had 10+ magazines, grandfathered in from when i bought them years ago

i admit though, i would go broke buying all the freedom guns that i want to have
