Midway USA Won't Honor C&R for ammo

I got the email from Midway USA reminding me of the new ammo restrictions in 2018. They said they will only ship to a FFL. I asked them if a FFL03 (C&R) would qualify and they said no even though the law does allow direct shipment if the FFL03 has a COE. It will be interesting to see which ammo suppliers will honor this. I will move my business away from Midway USA if they continue this exclusion.

That same email also said that Midway knows there are other exceptions (e.g. FFL03 & COE) but won't be keeping track of them, resorting to the lowest common denominator.

Buy ammo from whomever you wish but to act like this is purposeful snubbing of all C&R+COE holders is ridiculous.

I just contacted them and they said they will ship to FFL03s - only to the address on your license.

I wonder if its a question of terminology. I only ever said "FFL03" Did the OP say "C&R"?

As long as SGAmmo will, then I don't see an issue if Midway won't.

I'm sure there will be others that will as well.

CA, I am not sure, its complicated from the admins point of view to do busienss under those type of restrictions, I would like to but not sure if it is practical to administer considering the issues it presents to our internal process here

That sucks. But, it's a huge market that some out-of-state ammo dealer will step up to cash in on. Such a business niche will be filled, and probably by multiple companies.

I agree. If the big guys are willing to leave the money on the table, someone will happily come scoop it up and sell to FFls
