    This is critically good advice. And remember that there are no legal limits on what an FFL can charge you as a transfer fee for Internet purchases (some dealers charge $125 on top of DROS).

    So, if you find a great gun at $600 that would be $700 from an LGS:

    - Shipping: anywhere from $15 to $75. Let's assume $25
    - DROS: $25
    - FFL tranfer fee: Let's assume $75
    - Tax: At 9% = $54

    OTD Total = $779. For $9 more you could have bought from your LGS (since there is no shipping and transfer fees) and supported a local business.

    That's a fair amount more than the original $600, so just make sure you prepare yourself with real costs in advance.
