I shoot steel every time I go out there. Some shoot wooden targets they make. I've never seen anyone have any issues. I think the rules are more of a common sense safety guideline.

Anyone been out to this range recently?Comment

Good to know. Didn't want to drive out there to find a concrete yard or something.Comment

I recently saw a group shooting extra big charges of tannerite that made a huge explosion and cloud of smoke, I thought tannerite was banned in CA?
and this was at a crowded range with 35 - 40 vehicles lines up on Superbowl Sunday.
and many people were ignoring the "paper targets only rules" they had steel plates, gongs.
just because everybody else is doing it doesnt mean it's OK, dont be surprised if they give you a citation / fine.Comment

I go out there about twice a month. Always early.. usually one of the first ones there. I like the last bench (usually bring a belt fed)..
I like to go thru Gridley, on Larkin.. use to go back into town for a burrito after shooting at casa lupe, but recently started stopping at the burrito stand next to the ACE right there on Gridley rd and Larkin.. f***ing good burritos. Check them out if your in the area and hungry.. don’t get me wrong Casa Lupe is also still good, especially the street tacos, but it’s nice to have optionsLast edited by kalibeltfeeder; 02-17-2018, 9:04 AM.But I don't come 'round here to meet nice people anyway

I go the same way just not as frequently as I would like! Missed connections......... HA HA
I know it is an old thread but the range is very busy even during the week. I work a lot in the industrial park across the way from it. I keep saying I will stop after work but we have a company policy of no firearms in company vehicles so being a rule follower and wanting to keep my job I just drive by wishing

My daughter and son in law wanted to shoot on a Thanksgiving morning a few years ago. We went there for the first time. My wife now appreciates when we go to our regular club with our own bay with berms on the sides and back. We were shooting various handguns with the nect, very nearby shooter, using a bolt gun rifle. .308 or so. It was just short of a free for all. I don't think it would be possible to put steel out at any rifle distance without someone shooting it with steel core ammo.Comment

Overdue for a CalGuns shoot there. BTW....when the CG group is there, "we are" the range safety. Act stupid, and you will know immediately that you are extremely unwelcome there.
DWR knows who we are now, and they know we leave the range cleaner than it was before we got there.Comment

I was there for all of 45 seconds, drove down the full line and right back out. Not sure why I had a notion it would not be packed.
Anyhow looks like I'll have to go early morning on a weekday next time. Went to the pistol range in Chico at least, but I wanted to shoot my 6.5c loads I've been working up.Comment
