Both those threads you guys posted were about someone seeing two dots with the settings crank to the highest.

Hey, this is normal, I believe. Mine does exact same thing.
I believe it's an internal reflection off the front pelical mirrored element of light bouncing off the rear, internal raised wedge (about 0.6 cm wide) at the back opening of the laser assembly.
(I took about 1 hour of close examination to figure this out).
You will notice in your photo, this red internal reflection that is visible in your photos and which others have said "is not normal" is exactly 180 degrees opposite the internal laser assembly and the external laser brightness setting dial.Comment
