    Aimpoint Pro

I got my first Aimpoint Pro and tried it today. I noticed there is a red reflection (not the red dot) which covers 2/3 of the field of view of the scope. Please see the pictures. I turned the red dot all the way down and took out the battery the red reflection was still there.

    Is this normal?

My other red dot sighs (cheaper than aimpoint) don't seem to have this issue.

Odd, but how is it when mounted at the end of the reciever looking through it with a cheekweld? The angle of your photos are far more drastic than you would see when looking straight through

I took off from the rifle to take pictures. But with normal mounting and sighing position, it looks very similar to the picture.

Wow. I've been seriously considering one of the $384 PROs that mrgunsngear keeps sharing on Facebook.

I prefer the ACSS reticle on the more expensive primary arms/holosuns (65 MOA horseshoe around the dot) but I figured the PRO would be more reliable.

Ironically enough I had a PRO but gave it to my exwife with a Colt I gave her. It had been on for like 4 years at that point (nonstop) and still looked great, on the same battery.

Definitely not normal. I have several and have not experienced that.

Do you have a transparent lens cap on the end that is reflecting the red?

Did you exchange it and if so was the new one better? I got pointed to this thread because I just made a thread in the Optics section with the same issue:
