The below quote proves me correct with the reference to 'other vendors'.
From another website, ostensibly from a WC representative;
Done deal. "...other vendors..." Who could those other vendors be? Cheap Chinese horse-pucky, say it ain't so!
I will support American works and their products in a minute flat when their finished work is equal to or better than industry standard.
If WC is currently making frames & slides Stateside then good for them.
And after I see their work in the top 5% of non-sponsored shooters and in the Winner's Circle, consistently, for a few years, then I'll take a closer look.
I'll be a monkey's uncle to over-look the integrity and performance of Colt frames and Embel 1911 frames, and...and spend 3 grand in the process. The wc kool aid can't taste that good.
In summary,
If wc is making all their slides & frames in-house then good for them. When & if wc products prove to be as good or equal or other established frame manufactures I'll let yall know.
Frames from Ranger, Essex, AMT, Star, LLama....seen them arrive and I've seen them go. Everybody is as good, saves you money, promises promises, yada yada yada. Buy some pulp paper magazine spreads, sponser some T.V. air time, it's amazing what you can sell these days. Lets see how they shoot.
