    Bank security guard shoots robber

Well done by the retired officer... EXCEPT for that coup de grace shot in the buttocks at the end.

I think any of us would be held liable for that last shot.

Was it exigent circumstances that allowed for that last shot to his backside without charges?

OMG! What about the Over-penetration, brutal recoil, and loud noises?

It looks like the guard had a failure-to-fire after his first few shots then racks the slide and fires again. You can't see his gun when he does this but his body motions are consistent with racking the slide to eject a round. Anyone else notice that?

It all went down fast. Old guys rule!

Where the heck are these bad guys getting their guns from? And why do we never seems to hear about gun running/illegal gun ring busts?

I'm legally allowed to won guns here in California and I can hardly get the guns I want.

Good shooting by the guard though.

Looks like a great shooting. Susp was still a danger to the public till incapacitated.

Yeah, I noticed it, too. Intense, for sure. I'm glad that only the thug got hit.

Limp wristed it reaching around the counter. Great reaction, cleared the jam & put the BG down.

Wow, that happened in a split second. Good thing there were no other customers in that area, and I think the Guard is a little lucky he wasn't hit by the Bad Guy's return fire.

Yes, it looks like the gun jammed due to limp wristing as he was in a very awkward 1-handed shooting position and dodging bullets at the same time. He did a great job clearing the jam.

My two cents is it was a good shoot, all around.

The "buttocks" shot occurred almost exactly when the doors were opened to exit. Until then, it would not have been clear BG was withdrawing.

But this does illustrate very well the need to REASSESS after clearing malfunction (no tap, rack, BANG).

Well two of his four shots were hits. 50% hit rate is much higher than most police department shootings.

I believe that the technical term is "coup de arse."

                        Anywho, good shoot, good riddance.

Million dollar shot? I wonder if he will collect.

It looks like he had a failure to fire, only a 50% hit rate, wah, wah wah.

Geeze, the LEO dumped a BG is the commission of robbery and nobody else was hurt. Where were you? Safely behind the keyboard. I see...have some more rocks to throw.

Seems like you are the one throwing rocks. Every other post has been positive on this defensive shooting. OP just brought up a reasonable question.

The malfunction is common with one-handed shooting which is by definition limp-wristed for everyone. Only criticism i could make is was it really necessary to shoot with one hand? Hard to say without being there. His reaction time was lightning fast and maybe that is all he could manage from behind the corner. No matter, he recovered well.

Hit ratio was not bad, compared to LEO's.

And the shot in the *** was justified. I didn't see a single negative post here.
