This collection is not even worth 50k. The collector thinks he can get a premium because they're CA legal.

But they aren't anymore that's the funny part. He wants double the premium for neutered guns. I just realized 3 of the guns are duplicates b

A quick check on GB the most expensive I found of those guns was the MP5 at 3k+ the others topped out at 2.5k and the shotguns were 1200 to 1500.

It's wishful pricing, although the PSG1 stock and lower on the first SR9 (in TC configuration) alone are worth $1000-$1500.

The HK 931s were remarked HK 93s to match the original owner's HK 911s

Is that even legal for getting around the Banned-by-Name list? I thought the markings had to be from the manufacturer...not just taken over to a machine shop and having a "1" added to the name.

Seems like this clown is advertising two felonies.

I was curious about that also. But, there is the Springfield SR8, which was originally imported as SR3, untill the law changed. They gained the thumbhole stock and became over stamped SR8 to comply. They are called SR3/8. I assumed that something along those lines happened here as well.

As for the price? Yea, I just didn't notice that at first. lol

This happened with a shipment of 91s that were caught in a Customs warehouse when the federal AW ban went into effect in 1989. HK sent a tech to re-stamp the guns "911" and make a few other changes to bring them into compliance. Not sure how they pulled this off, but it is a relatively well-known story. I have never heard of anything similar happening with the HK 93 rifles.

I emailed the guy selling the collection. I think he needs to up his research skills, because his explanation didn't reassure me.

First of all the guns can be sold in California with a magazine lock as described on the hkguncollection.com web page.

The 931s were remarked and obtained from a deceased owner's estate sale. I do not know if the factory did the remarking. Legally,
only a type 07 FFL manufacturer dealer can remark a rifle.

Either way, we contacted several California FFL dealers in the past and they said that they are legal for sale with the magazine
lock.

I know for a fact that you cannot bring a Banned-by-Name model into compliance with a mag lock. If you missed the registration, it is an illegal assault weapon if possessed in California no matter what. And it cannot be transferred to any other Californian who doesn't have a mythical assault weapon permit.

Whether you can take an HK rifle to any 07 FFL and have them re-mark it, I don't know. I would think that there would have to be ATF and DOJ paperwork that went along with the process, and my instinct is that this is not a viable way around Roos-Roberti, but that is a complete guess by someone who isn't an attorney.

The only Hk 93 style that wasn't banned by name is the hk43... which is rare.

If he had a few original PSG1's WITH the accessories AND the original case then maybe he would get the 100K , as is he is nowhere near that value but hey he can ask for it all day long if he wants to .

I think you are referring to the Springfield SAR 3/8, which are licensed 91 copies.



I also doubt the 931 claim. HK911's are well known, and there were a few Norinco 56S that were also restamped and neutered.

As previously mentioned, there was a shipment of HK91's that got in transit during a change in law. To comply for customes clearance, they were hand stamped with an additional 1 after the HK91 and then they got a thumbhole stock and a generic forend to match. They also had the flash hider removed and an aluminum sleeve was installed then pinned and tack welded. It gave the appearance of having a heavy barrel to the uninformed at the time, quite disappointing when you take the hand-guard off for the first time and see a skinny barrel underneath. Kind of disgusting actually. Anyways, thats another story. So these two HK911's have obviously been re-worked a little.
