It certainly seems worth the price. Check the Amazon reviews, most of which are quite positive. I haven't gone to the range with it yet, so can't comment otherwise.

I've set it for the IBZ (Improved Battlesight Zero) setting of 6/3-4 for a 50yd/200 meter zero. It is bottomed out at that setting. There is no 8/3 setting.

My front sight has been set flush now, and will report back on the UTG A2 rear sight after I take it to the range.

As to the MOA adjustments on the standard A2 front sight, I've read differing accounts from various sources as to what each click represents.

Any opinions what each elevation click would be in MOA with a standard A2 front sight (4 slots) on an AR-15 M&P15 Sport II with 16" bbl shooting .223?

(The windage clicks on the UTG rear sight are apparently 1/2 MOA. One guy was 4 inches right of the target at 50yds and he went left 16 clicks to center on the bullseye).

For kicks, just purchased a UAG carry handle on ebay. The price was really cheap:

I did not want to make an investment on a Colt or LMT carry handle, even if used, because I don't think my corrected eyesight will be much good at 50 yds, if that far. We shall see how that fares with the UTG Match A2 rear sight and with the UAG carry handle.

Later: Shucks, just purchased a used Colt GI carry handle on Ebay. So I won't be needing the new UAG carry handle after all, unless it is defective. Haven't even received it yet and would feel bad returning it to the Ebay seller.

Has anyone experienced the following with A2 style rear sights with 2 apertures:

I found that there were 2-3 clicks difference in the windage zero at 100 yards between the 2 apertures.

I believe the reason is because the apertures are at 90 degrees angle from each other, so when you flip from one aperture to the other, the aperture piece must rotate a quarter turn along the threaded rod, thus moving the piece a quarter turn's worth left or right on the rod.

i.e. Flipping the rear sight aperture has the same effect as turning the windage knob one quarter turn.

This could be compensated for by having the apertures' centers offset by the same distance as a quarter turn of whatever thread pitch of the rod. But looking at the aperture piece of example A2 sights that I own, the apertures appear to be in-line, i.e. no offset to compensate for the 90 degree turn along the threaded rod.

Are the apertures supposed to have a left-right offset or not?

OP's link was less about how to sight and more about what the two apertures are for

I was the taught that the large aperature had but 2 uses:

                1. Shooting at night before the parachute flares lit up, then flipping back to the small hole.

                2. Shooting with the gas mask on.

Other than those two sets of circumstances, we were instructed to treat the large aperture the same as we did the burst setting on the selector. Like it wasn't even there.

Gas masks are where vis lasers come in handy

no, sorry, you miss my point. the point of the article is to educate on a system which is designed to be a primary system. there is no reason to have a duel aperture on a BUIS which is why some of the best BUIS only have 1.
