You've got the wrong lower.

Take the top off. Insert mag. See what catches and what does not. Compare sude by side with another AR.
Too late to change the lower, but you can akways find another mag catch that works

Get a quality usgi mag catch. Most of the new mag catches are crappy Chinese cast parts and only hold the metal mags in. Order a genuine colt catch from Brownells and it'll fix your issue.

If it is an 80% lower, a lot of them have sloppy, loose magwells. And low quality 100% lowers can also have loose magwells.

Are your steel mags loose in the magwells? They should be tight - very very little movement at all.

Mounting G33 behind Eotech 512

I am very new to this forum so please be patient.
I have a new Eotech 512 mounted on a Larue raised mount. The mount has a section in the rear that is raised. I will be mounting a G33 Optic behind the Eotech.

In order to maintain my lower 1/3 co witness, will I mount the G33 on the raised portion of the Larue? Will this not raise the optic above the hood of the 512?
