Gen 1 = non-RTF
Gen 2 = RTF
Gen 2.5 = RTF + finger grooves
Gen 3 = RTF + finger grooves + accessory rail
^Gen 3 MB = RTF + finger grooves + accessory rail + ambi-magazine release
^Gen 3 RTF = RTF2 + finger grooves + accessory rail
Gen 4 = RTF3 + finger grooves + accessory rail + multiple back straps + reversible magazine release
Gen 4.5 = RTF3 + reversible magazine release
Gen 5 = RTF3 + accessory rail + multiple back straps + reversible magazine release + ambi-slide stop

They will continue to make Gen 3, because Glock still has world wide Gov/Mil contracts specifically for Gen 3 Glocks.

And in all cases, you are paying way too much for about $150 bucks worth of a gun.

You underestimate I think. Remember that plenty of gen 4's got in via SSE. Gen 5 will be much more exclusive. I'm thinking closer to $2k.
