Poor business practice for sure, but people are not perfect all the time. I bet a robot wouldn't have let this happen.

But even a robot can be programmed to say "apologizes for our mistake!".

Isn't it funny how people make excuses for a sorry business that obviously doesn't care? There is no such thing as a robot at gun stores so why make such a comment? I too would out the shop, without apologies.

Who said perfect? The sequence of events had multiple errors and customer service that left much to be desired. I even said it wasn't the end of the world - clearly noting I know it's not a world shattering moment in history. Just our story about a business.

While we don't have an excess of gun stores in the area, I have not even set foot in Range Masters since they jacked up their PPT fees. Maybe close to 2 years now?

I hope those extra PPT fees are making up for my business, which they lost 100%.

The robot comment was more of a joke than anything. Of course there are no robots in a gun store.

OP I did not intend to get your thread off topic, my apologies.

I guess the things to learn from this is that this business is either shady and tries to sell consignment items without paying the sellers, or they are negligent and unapologetic when called out on their negligence.

I would definitely avoid this establishment.

Customer service is a lost art.

I learned it in a sit down restaurant at 13, had it reinforced at in fast food, and later sales. Still practice it today, with my own clients.

Too bad lots of folks really don't care about the customers who make it possible for them to get paid.

                    Sorry, not sorry.

This isn't a slip through the cracks issue. This is the worst gun shop I've ever dealt with. Every employee is a wanna be LEO with zero knowledge of CA laws. If you ask them a question everything is illegal and you are an idiot for asking. I avoid this place like the plague.

Sorry but there are far worse ffls in the area to dodge and go to range master. Ever been to tacticool? There's your wanna bees that tell you anything they don't carry is illegal.

My wife hadn't shot any of our guns I'm nearly 2 to 3 years with the past 2 births of our boys. And I finally got to go on a nice date with her. Figured we would hit the range and then grab some sushi. We arrived at 415 and I knew they closed at 530. They took 15 minutes to get us a lane on an empty range.
As we go to walk in a young kid probably early 20s yells across the store to the guy helping us that we have 30 mins . I look at the clock and he and I look at each other confused why he was gonna try and shove us out 30 mins early....

We each get thru a pair of mags amd the kid walks into the range and starts bringing all the cardbord forward and shutting down the other lanes and pushing brass. He looks over to get my attention and yells 10 mins left. My wife is now annoyed and doesn't even want to shoot, and I'm irritated about this new d bag. I keep loading mags for her 5 mins later and he storms out yelling I told you we are closed. Just as he sees me load another mag of 45 into my new glock. He says last one. So I grin and dump that mag as fast as I can move my finger and he slams the door pissed. We walk out and they bill us for 60 bucks. And I ask for 30 minutes? You shut down 45 mins early? The guy shrugs and runs my card. Haven't been back since...well except for to fondle a pistol before having my guy Bob in Nipomo order it.

The owner is a great guy but the kids he's hired don't know **** and have no idea about customer service.

Couldn't agree more. Customer service can make or break a business IMO. I've been in too many shops that treat customers as an annoyance. Money talks, so I take my wallet elsewhere.

On the flip side, I've been to shops that are truly customer focused and as a result have earned repeat business, even though their prices may be higher than other shops or online.

Poor customer service eventually takes it's toll on small companies.

It's the business version of natural selection.

The ones that don't give a c*** eventually go the way of the dinosaurs.
