Eh, i beg to differ but i can see how a true newbie may be more likely to lose awareness with a pistol. However, i dont think its right to relegate a new shooter to a rifle for that reason

Do you use just one club for golfing? xD

It doesn't even stop there, ..I"ll also shoot BB, airsoft, water, rubberband, paper, and virtual guns where appropriate.

Usually a mix of both but last trip alot more of handgun.Built a dueling tree so it made for lots of fun between friends shooting.
