    At what point...

Does it go from "mall ninja" to "Prepared to embrace the second amendment for what it is and be able to protect those you love including your country". Because i see alot of ****talking about the "tactical" training side of things, yet alot of the same people say "i only need to shoot 1" groups from a bench at 100 yards" yet carry a gun to defend their family and profess to protect their country though the same means. The entire thing confuses me. Do tell.

Ok tactical is utilitarian in nature... it's minimalistic... I have a .22 lr with afg pistol grip single point sling acog and rds.But 4x32 is zeroed at 50 yards rds 25 since most home defense situations are indeed in that range from fighting down my drive way even to the wind of the block... folding collapsible stock made it ideal for my house... I even found the world's sketchiest place to shoot and I use it as a kill house... nothing wrong with being prepared and pragmatic so long as you aren't simply chasing the aesthetic I think.

Please define Kill House so we are all on the same page. I know what you mean, others may not.

I agree about the term "aesthetic", its an apt word to use.

Kill house is a pretty generally known term I think.

Kill house: man made structure with rooms and hallways to place targets and practice clearing.

Gotcha, which is what i assumed, though most people will probably call it a "shoothouse", i.e. EAG, Sage, LMS, etc

Its mall ninja when all you talk about is tactical this and tactical that. Dismiss anything that doesnt agree with you or isnt on your "level." belittle others for not training with this top instructor or took this specific class.

I think most people talk crap at the arrogance of the "tactical" leaning shooters because they come across as arrogant know it alls.

Dont get me wrong i understand some peoples need to train as hard and as deep as possible without actually having to go to war. Being over prepared is not a bad thing.

Just some of you "tactical" guys gotta lower your egos a bit...that **** gets annoying sometimes...

With that said, if you are a tactical leaning shooter then by all means go for it. It definetely will not hurt your preparedness. Tactical training definitely has a purpose. Just remember not everyone thinks the same on what sufficient training is sufficient enough...

Two excellent responses. I'm not sure much more needs to be added.

I would agree completely with afteractionreport that there is some ego that could be calmed down a bit. But that is true with all hobbies and activities.

That being said, I'm going to go make bunk beds so I can have more room for activities.

When you have a quad rail and have an attachment on every side, you're a mall ninja. At least that's the way I understood it.

It's preparedness if you agree with it. If you don't then it's being a mall ninja.

I call it a Shoot-house as the term Kill-house is too scary and inhibits my abilities.

You also need to dress correctly: 511's or camo, desert boots, etc.

To me, training takes it from "mall ninja" to practical application. A mall ninja is someone who owns all the tactical gear, and runs their mouth about it like they can't wait to use it in real life. Someone who is serious about it owns the gear, has training on how to use it, but actually hopes they don't ever have to use it because they know how much it would suck to be in that situation. And they keep their mouth shut.

The one thing that so many people fail to consider is mind set. You can have all the training and all the tact gear but if you are unable or unwilling to take another persons life none of it matters.

I sometimes wonder about people who cannot kill an animal as to just how much good they would be if they were faced with killing a person. I have also spoke with people who have said they would only shoot someone in the leg because they would only want to wound them. I know for a fact I would not have that problem and yet I do not have all the tact cool stuff/firearms and do not take 100 classes.
I own camo---for hunting. I own 511 for my CCW. I do not own desert boots but have several pairs of hunting boots. I am not tact cool and see no reason to be or act that way. I am an excellent shot who does practice and hunt. I also have the correct mind set if I need to do so. Ego has no part in it. I do not "want" to kill/wound a person but if put into a position where I would need to I have no doubt I could---again.

A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Just normalcy bias, comfort zones and insecurity work.
