    Gas block to Germany

My buddy is having trouble get a nice adjustable gas block for his AR. I be-leave sending gun parts overseas is not legal. But in theory if someone took apart the gas block, so it will no longer worked as a gas block. Would it still be illegal. It would just be a piece of metal.

What is illegal about sending a part over seas? Worst case scenario customs keeps it?

Now you have me wondering what am I missing? Or are you just too paranoid?

Oh yeah, THAT. Well then get permission and send it off. No biggie...

Let me rephrase by changing one word. Doesn't sound like a no biggie anymore.

Big step up in enforcement under this last year of Obama - mainly import but they also watch export. I'd be worried not so much it leaving here but when it hits customs there. They probably have a big ban on parts for current miitary rifles.
