    Duracoat illegal in California now?

So I do a lot of duracoat stuff for customers, and sometimes I use the aerosol stuff for small jobs.

My order was just canceled due to new regulation that started Jan 1st banning importation?

So is the company I order from just wrong? Anyone hear anything?

    Damn this state sucks.

There is probably a good reason to make dura coat illegal.
Think how a criminal could use a gun in a crime, then go home, duracoat the gun and witnesses would not be able to identify it !
Remember criminals are smart and it takes a Democrat legilsator to stay one jump ahead of them !

So yeah its probably prohibited !

Likely a prop 65 issue. Is it listed on any of the current cans you have?

You should contact Duracoat. They are in Riverside CA.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Yes, Ive been using a different supplier, and I just ordered what I needed through DC direct...We shall see.

Only here will they ban shipping a product that is made in California, in California.

Maybe their vendor is out of state.

I wish they would ban, banning stuff.
Some other Sate just banned the banning of plastic grocery bags.

I don't know if this is related to two-part epoxy paint or stuff that uses volatile base chemicals, but I tried to buy some 2-part epoxy paint several years ago and found out you needed a professional painter license to buy it in CA. I bought some in NV when I went to the Reno Big Gun Show over the counter with no license. CA regulates stuff that shouldn't need regulating.

I remember a few years back outa nowhere when some ingredients in certain birchwood and casey products got banned in Ca and you couldn't find any wood stain or bluing anywhere. I had to wait til I went back home to AZ to buy some when I couldn't find it here to finish a stock.

Im guessing they have to make a watered down Ca version for us poor saps.

Thanks, yes Ive been in contact with them this evening.

Im thinking its a importation issue. My supplier is out of state.
Hopefully Lauer direct can solve it.

I paint weapons, but I also have a painters contractor license in the state of California if it comes down to it.

Man this place is over regulated.
