How to get a estimate distance without rangefinder?

Planning to setup a target at 10 yards and 25 yards at the BLMs, but I do not have a range finder... how do you guys estimate the distance w/o range finder?

Someone told me that I can count my steps and at 10 yards is roughly 12 steps.

Just walk it off or get a 100 ft tape measure if your really worried about it.

I just use a tape measure and often just leave the range finder at home.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

For defensive target practice, just set-up the target at an estimated distance.
Perpetrators are never at set distances.

Man... for such short distances it doesn't matter if it's exact. Measure your foot. Then walk the distance and do the math. It's not rocket surgery!

Either just walk it and estimate it or use a piece of rope/paracord (premeasured) with knots in it at the distances you want.

1 standard stride should be about a yard op.

Is it April 1 already? Answer: estimates are fine. Use whatever you want.

For such a short distance just use a tape measure. 30ft = 10yrds.

I read the title and assumed OP was going to ask distance passed 100 yards... Like everyone said, tape measure is cheap and easy to attain. Good luck!
