My middle son got one. This is the only one of my kids that hasn't shown an interest in shooting.
He went with me to the LGS on the 23rd, I was curious what AR's they had on display.
On the way home he asked what was necessary to buy a gun (he's 23).
I told him I'd pay for the FSC. I asked if there was a particular gun that caught his eye.
        There was.
While he was taking the test I evaluated the gun. I looked at the price.
After he passed the test, he then handled the gun (I believe the gun also chose him).
I paid for it, he DROS'd it.
He can pay me back, or not (he will, he's that kind of person).
So the one child that's not into shooting is the first one to choose a gun.
        Heritage Rough Rider .22lr.
        I think an excellent choice.

What a beautiful work of art and design. What are those four silver knob-looking things at the front end of the receiver spaced around the barrel? They look like some sort of locking pin devices or gas tubes.

I got a SIG MPX pistol from mom and dad. I had to talk them into getting it for me early so that it could be DROS'd so I didn't have it to open, I picked it up from the LGS about two weeks ago. Luckily my parents are CA ex-pats in NV and hate this state so much that they'll happily give me guns as presents. I gave them a list of everything I'm interested in. They surprise me.

It only took me reaching my mid 30s to finally get gifts I actually like. Here's to hoping they find that P30SK or CZ P10C in time for my birthday.

So their function is to secure the floating rail to the rest of the firearm I'm guessing? Makes sense.

I gave myself 2. One is a Ruger GP-100 and the other is a Springfield M1A Scout Squad. Will DROS the M1A on Tuesday and can't DROS the pistol until Wednesday of Thursday. The M1A will be my first long gun.
