Read the bolded parts again. If you think those are the right reasons then good for you but not for me.

Had a discussion with a couple of the members from the Liberal Gun Club at the Richmond range a few months ago. They overheard my Asian friend talking about voting for Trump and were shocked. For them, the 2nd Amendment is archaic and about giving the states the right to have National Guard units. They also drinks the roster safety and 10 round Kool-Aids. We ended up walking off to the action range to getaway from them.

These threads always crack me up.

Early in 2016: *Liberals are trying to ban guns*
Calguns: "We need to figure out how to get these liberals into guns, so that they can understand them and stop being so scared."

A few months later, still 2016: *Liberals finally start getting into guns*
Calguns: "We need to figure out how to stop liberals from getting guns!"

I had a coworker show up to work the other day with his first firearm he ever got a few weeks ago (I asked him to bring it in so I could take a look). What he handed me would have been an AW, by the existing definition, thankfully the upper was not attached to the lower yet. No BB. As luck would have it, I had my own AR there as well, and loaned him my BB and helped him install it. Then I taught him all about the insanity of all these gun laws, and how the law written and passed by guys he probably voted for nearly turned him into a felon. Taught him about safe handling. He went to the range later and had a blast, came back with all 10 fingers and 10 toes. I don't see the problem with how that scenario turned out in the end.

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

            FIFY.

Not to drag this thread too far off-topic, and not to nit-pick what you wrote, but if someone wants to buy a "smart" gun, they should be able to. I'm all for liberals buying up as many smart guns as their bleeding hearts desire. But at the same time, we have to be allowed to keep buying "stupid" guns if we want those too. Availability of technology isn't the issue, it's the mandated use of it that is the problem.

Personally I'm looking forward to liberals reaping what they sow. My liberal mom wants to carry for self defense but lives in a no-issue county. All the guns that would be best for home-defense for a 70 year old woman with serious shoulder and wrist weakness are illegal or will be soon (.410 Saiga? AR-15? Pistol-caliber carbines? High-capacity .22 pistols? Oops!) Plus, she lives nowhere near any gun store because GET THAT FILTH OUT OF OUR NEIGHBORHOODS. Good think you can order ammo online right? OH WAIT!

I am, of course, still going to help her the best I can, but hopefully the irony won't be lost on her and the other liberals that are feeling the weight of their own blindly-passed legislation. After all, it's easy to accept endless inconvenience and headache as the price of perceived safety when you're the one perceiving the safety and someone else has to put up with the inconvenience.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a defective mother

                I'm kidding, sort of.

My mom is ALWAYS railing on gun owners and CA's "lax" gun laws. And every time I talk about hunting or guns with her, followed by the ridiculous laws regarding such, the conversation always goes the same. "I support any law that makes it harder for criminals to use guns." And I'll say "Well what about laws that make it harder for ME to use guns?" and she'll say "Oh not you, you're a responsible gun owner, I don't want to make it harder for you, just the criminals!" Hmmmmm.... apparently her solution is to simply ban criminals from owning guns. Why didn't we think of that!

Unfortunately, your mom and my mom represent the bulk of CA liberals. They have absolutely zero clue (or don't care) about how gun laws negatively affect good people, and have zero affect at making them safer, and in most cases actually making them less safe.

This is the part I'm actually kind of hopeful about. Liberals who try to buy guns are going to find out that you can't actually pick up fully semi-automatic high-powered ghost gun AssaultRifle-15s at the local gas station like CNN told them they could.

They're going to go down to their local gun store and be told that the gun that they want isn't "safe" with the blue plastic grips, but that they can buy it in pink if they want. Then they'll be told to cough up another hundred bucks over the price of the gun they wanted for the safety test, background check, and ammo licence.

In general I don't like the idea of people who don't like guns buying guns, as they tend to be the ones who leave them tossed in a sock drawer somewhere to get stolen or misused, but it could also be a learning experience for people who have never tried to buy a gun or even known anyone who owned one.

Small correction here. Gun laws don't apply to criminals. They are...criminals.

I used to be a Demo.

In college, I fell into the brainwashing of the Liberal education system that indoctrinates most young, idealistic, yet stupid students. I felt like, at the time, the Democrat party stood up for the poor against the rich or wealthy. As a broke college student, it appealed to me. My ignorance of politics and corruption/self-pandering in the D party was full-blown.

As soon as I saw that the D party is nothing more than Fascist Socialism masquerading as welfare for the less fortunate, and at the expense of our great Nation as a whole, I woke up and went Libertarian/Republican.
Hell...I'm still registered as a democrat. I voted for democrat....once....in 1992. Then I got my first paycheck....

I am still registered as a democrat so I can get that voter's guide during the election. I just vote against everything that guide tells me to.

socialism and freedom always have and always will be incompatable. The liberals in that story want the benifits of a free republic yet vote against the very ideals of self preservation and property rights they demand for themselves.

They are afraid because Trump was elected? They want to arm up to presumably defend themselves against republicans? I dont know any conservative that cares about someones gender, race or ethnicity. Its about how you act as a person and behave in society. I do know plenty of conservatives that care about a self claimed oppressed class of persons demading others to accept their their lifestyle and pay for it through legistlation and taxes.

They dont need to buy guns they have the jack booted thugs in Suckramento to protect them.

Land locked, you are living in fantasy land. Spend 20 minutes looking over reports of hate acts based on color, race, religion.
Have you not seen the neo-nazi and white supremacist parties, videos, and declarations? These people are aiming to bring back , basically, slavery of non-whites.

This isn't the 40 and 50's though, there will be FIERCE resistance and outright mayhem.

What exactly is socialism anyway? Is it your public schools, roads, libraries, parks, water and sewer system? How about your social security? How about the ability to get help in a hospital emergency room when you need it? Fire departments, ambulance, National Park and Fire Service, the list goes on and on.

We live with each other, in a social system. It's not a dirty word. It is what we have, a mostly social system.

Since you are not aware of the rise in hate crimes against minorities, here is some FBI data.
