Because now we have uneducated, possibly irresponsible, definitely misinformed, and misguided people that may feel justified showing up to protest with a gun, whereas the rest of us law-abiding citizens will be defenseless with our guns safely locked up in safes.
    Funny,
I decided to arm up because I was sick of uneducated, possibly irresponsible, definitely misinformed people being the ones who were armed..

That and the understanding the police will not be there when I need them.

But, for sure I wasn't about to be the only guy not armed when SHTF.

I don't care what drives healthcare cost, what matters is the reality of the situation since regardless of what you think drives the cost, nobody is fixing it.

So far, I've seen lots of people in this post say things like "That is not true", or "you are misinformed" or "you are ignorant".

Yet, I've provided link after link, data after bits of data to support what I think, and I've yet to see anything aside from "you don't know what you are talking about".

If I am wrong, how about some DATA to back up opinions?

Let me give you an example of short-sighted thinking.

You are worried about paying higher insurance premiums because others don't.

How about when you get cancer? Either you pony up the $5 Million it takes to manage cancer, or the REST OF US pay as part of our insurance the increased amount to cover YOUR illness? (This too is part of premium costs already)

Guess which one it is? Again, a social system.

Here's a better idea: we ALL put in something from our paychecks to cover basic healthcare and catastrophe. If you want high-end care after that , you pay for it. Would you be okay with that Sierra57?
You don't care what drives the cost of health care? You should. How else can we fix it? Your idea entails taking ever increasing amounts of money from achievers "because its the humanist thing to do"; i.e.; it makes you feel GOOD about yourself, but doesn't really address the problem.

      In addition to that -
      * tort reform/controlling liability costs of every aspect of healthcare providers and those who supply their equipment/medicine/ancillary supplies.
      * the growth of bureaucracy in both private health care institutions/practices and the government agencies they are now required to report to.
      * importing millions of poor people from other countries, both legal and illegal, none of whom have the means to pay for private health insurance.

BTW, do you know what pharma companies do when they spend $1,000,000,000 on a new medicine and it is denied by the FDA? The loss is embedded into the cost of medicines that are on the market.
      __________________________________________________ ___________

People pooling their voluntarily into a private health care system is a far cry from being forced into a government run system with no assurance of timely and/or good care. Are banks socialist too, because we pool our money in them?
      __________________________________________________ ___________

If we ALL take money from our paychecks and into a single payer system, we are still left with tens of millions of unemployed, children who aren't old enough to work, retired people, etc. And if socialized medicine is so wonderful, why would anyone need to seek high end care? Is that an admission that socialized medicine is not all its cracked up to be?

      __________________________________________________ ___________

Anyway, talking about health care costs is going down a rabbit hole. You said that any and all government services constitute socialism. Based on the all of the core definitions of socialism, you are wrong.

Do you support the constitution? Do you believe in the US ideology? Do you believe that the gun should only be used when your life or those you are responsible for is actually threatened? Because that is all good.

However, if you believe in shutting people up for simply disagreeing with you or going around and destroying someone else's property because you feel you'very been wronged in some way, and you want a gun because you think you will not be able to do that anymore, yeah, I would want to be armed at all times because of people like you. And being in LA county I would be breaking the law if I carried without a license I cannot get.

Yup. And I will say welcome to the side of the constantly oppressed - the side of people that respect the constitution AND all amendments.

It is awesome how all these idiots react when they find themselves on the side where they feel the government doesn't represent theit beliefs. Welcome to our world.

Many of the people on Calguns really enjoy making broad assumptions and generalizations. They assume that the folks on TLGF are anti 2A, new to firearms, driven by emotions rather than rational thought. They/you find comfort in your own perceived superior firearm knowledge and general intellect. You assume that you can out shoot 20 libs with guns, at the mere sight of your steely eye and superior firepower the libs will pee themselves, drop their politically correct firearm and run for the nearest safe place.
I've spent a bit of time over at TLGF ( The Liberal Gun Forum) They are gaining more members every day. Sure, there is the occasional person that just bought a their first gun. Most are people who have been shooting and/or hunting for most of their lives. Many of them are AR fans, some more interested in handguns or hunting rifles. Some of them reload, some compete. What I'm not seeing much of on that site is the hateful rhetoric and chest thumping that has become prevalent on Calguns.

The Liberal Gun Club is full of anti 2A quislings. Allnyou have to do is look at their election forum. Whoncares if they like guns. They support the politicians trying to take them, F them.

And yet with events on the national stage that offend, we never hear death threats coming from the conservative camp. Take the peaceful, armed takeover of a government building in Oregon. No shots were fired, no one was hurt in the first hours yet we heard from liberal hoplophobes the cry of, "Shoot them!" and other, yea, deplorable, suggestions.

Wow, that's an interesting spin. an ARMED takeover and peaceful in the same sentence!
Why did they bring guns to a "Peaceful takeover"? What if there had been an armed ranger at the preserve? would they have turned around and gone home rather than engage?

"When asked on January 6 if he would rather be killed than arrested if the occupation turned violent, Finicum replied, "I have no intention of spending any of my days in a concrete box"

Doesn't sound very peaceful to me.

It just looks like there's a lot of insecurity now that more and more people who are considered "liberal" are arming themselves.

Contrary to what I've been accused of, I've already stated I decided to get armed to protect myself and my family because I feel more threatened today than ever. That is a far cry from being aggressive.

Besides, you guys should be happy more and more people are arming themselves, right? It's a RIGHT that we all have, I hear on here every day.

Or are you suddenly nervous that others are exercising that right because you don't like their reasons?

If you think until recently only sane "republicans" owned guns, you need to spend some time on youtube.
