ArmaLite of Geneseo, IL, bought the name from a Philippine company. There is no relation between the ArmaLite Division of Fairchild of Hollywood and Costa Mesa, and the modern ArmaLite of Geneseo, IL.Originally posted by cockedandglockedGetting called a DOJ shill has become a rite of passage around here. I've certainly been called that more than once - I've even seen Kes get called that. I haven't seen Red-O get called that yet, which is very suspicious to me, and means he's probably a DOJ shill.Comment

Unless I am missing something...

Yeah, he bought a name. There is no other connection to (the real) ArmaLite of Costa Mesa, just the name that he bought from a Philippine company.Unless I am missing something...

And as I Swan alluded, Springfield Armory wasn't even a name that could be bought, as it was a government arsenal until it was shut down in 1968. Some dudes just hung a shingle and laid claim to a 200 year heritage.
And let's not even get started with Henry Repeating Arm.Originally posted by cockedandglockedGetting called a DOJ shill has become a rite of passage around here.
