Gun people are funny. I am pretty sure a lot of them actually believe the ArmaLite Company of Geneseo IL invented the AR-15.
Kind of like how Springfield Armory appropriated the name of an iconic US arsenal to sell quite a few Croatian and Brazilian handguns. This and the ILS prevent me from really being interested in SA products much. All I own is a used M1A I bought here.

I like it too. Wish the .45ACP was on the roster to go with it's brothers, .40 and 9mm that I have.

            Unless I am missing something...

" This property protected by American outdoor brands Corporation Inc. a division of American brand subsidiary companies incorporated ! "

Doesn't have the same ring to it as
"This property protected by Smith & Wesson ".

Plus you'd need a bigger sign.

Yeah, he bought a name. There is no other connection to (the real) ArmaLite of Costa Mesa, just the name that he bought from a Philippine company.

And as I Swan alluded, Springfield Armory wasn't even a name that could be bought, as it was a government arsenal until it was shut down in 1968. Some dudes just hung a shingle and laid claim to a 200 year heritage.

And let's not even get started with Henry Repeating Arm.
