Out of control use gun prices

The no thread crapping rule on is only reasonable. The MP would be 100% useless without it.About 2 months ago I would have agreed with you 100%. Until I commented on a high price a gun was being sold for and my account was temporarily suspended by the site administrator for "Thread crapping."
I had never heard of this before and had to look it up. At the end of the day it wasn't a big deal to me but nevertheless they still control what's being said. I was not disrespectful, did not use any profanity, nor was I condescending.

What if you owned a car dealership and every day people came in telling all your customer about how terrible your prices are and that the dealership down the block has much better prices and they hand out flyers with the other dealership's prices for the same models. Or just loudly expressing their opinion about how how bad the deal is or how bad the your cars are.
Would that be ok with you? Of course not. It's no different than undermining someone's effort to sell something on this forum, by posting better prices from somewhere else.
If you feel you need to be helpful, send the seller am PM suggesting their price is wrong.Comment

I understand that, but is the CalGuns blog in existence for the purpose of selling guns? I don't believe so and if people were looking to purchase guns above market price, they would come to CalGuns (or maybe they would). This is NOT a gun store in which profit determines our families well-being.The no thread crapping rule on is only reasonable. The MP would be 100% useless without it.

At the end of the day, I was merely replying to the OP.
I respect your right to believe it's ok to overly charge our brothers and sisters for firearm related items but it still doesn't make it right (In my opinion).

What I believe is that a seller can ask what ever price they want and a buyer can pay what ever price they want. The key is that it's only your opinion that someone is overcharging. If a buyer pays the asking price, their opinion is that the price is acceptable. I might think a seller is asking an outrageous price and that a buyer would be crazy to pay that price. But there's no reason for me to interfere with that seller by inserting my unsolicited opinion in their ad.
These subforums are the appropriate place to discuss our opinions about prices. And there's a subforum where you can post info about good deals you find. A seller's ad in the MP is definitely not the right place to post your opinion about their deal. Temp bans are appropriate for doing that.Comment

Being overpriced is not only my opinion when there's factual data to back it up.And I was merely replying to yours.

But I do agree with you on if someone's willing to purchase an item regardless of price, it's basically on them. I will no longer interject when someone's getting screwed over since Pro 2A does not necessarily mean a welcomed 1A.
Thanks for the chat, I enjoyed it. Happy New Year!

Yep, nice to discuss different opinions without going off the railsBeing overpriced is not only my opinion when there's factual data to back it up.

I agree with you 100%
But Arfcom has a dedicated threadcrapping thread (or maybe it's a threadcrapping subforum) that is educational and immensely entertaining. Calguns should have something like that.Originally posted by cockedandglockedGetting called a DOJ shill has become a rite of passage around here. I've certainly been called that more than once - I've even seen Kes get called that. I haven't seen Red-O get called that yet, which is very suspicious to me, and means he's probably a DOJ shill.Comment

That would be excellent!!
Hmmm. I think we should also have a subforum called "Fight Club" so anytime a thread gets nasty, mods could move it to the Fight Club forum where it can continue with no rules, no restriction and no ban hammer! Make it Pay-Per-View. $1 a month subscription to view the forum. Fighters put there for free .
