Spartan Body Armor

Hi, I'm looking to buy a body armor, and I found these, anyone is familiar with their products, and what type should I get (shooters or swimmers). Thanks

But in all seriousness, buy the plates separate from the carrier. The Condor is junk, and the cheaper "spartan" one they offer is probably some rebranded stuff of similar dubious quality. Buy a Mayflower, Crye, TAB Banshee or Ferro separate from the plates.

I got my stuff through them, and I'm happy with it.

If you're on a "budget", I think the Banshees can be had in the realm of $150-$180. And I've heard nothing but good things about them. The Ferro Slicksters are nice and a tad cheaper but have less features.

Save money by skipping the side plates for now if budget is an issue. If this is your first time with plates just get comfortable with that weight. And then add the side plates which definitely make the package more cumbersome as a whole (not just in weight but range of motion mostly).

I got the shooters cut, because I shoot more than I swim.
The shooters cut isn't as big as it looks on the website.
It's not meant to cover all of your torso, just your vital organs.

And to answer your question, I got shooters cut. You will shoulder the rifle differently but it is what it is.

I don't actually shoulder my rifle that much differently with the PC on.
Maybe a little bit but if you collapse your stock a little bit it will negate the effects a little bit to where it's basically the same.

Any collapsible stock I run all the way in from the get go, but what I mean is that it can just feel different shouldering on the edge of a plate or a shoulder pad.

I usually run the stock right in the middle, but I do collapse it when wearing plates.

Ive never understood why people go cheap on the one thing thats holding all your upper body mounted gear, mags, hydration, medical, as well as 2 heavy slabs of steel or even ceramics. Condors stitching is below the industry standard and no amount of customer service will come to you in person at that moment and help you carry all your gear around thats now blown out onto the ground. You'll be kicking yourself that you didnt spend a bit more and get sometjing from Velocity Systems, Ferro, Crye, Tyr, First Spear, Paraclete, S&S Precision, Blue Force Gear, and so on and so on and so forth. With all those options it boggles my mind that anyone would land on condor. Quality issues with condor aside, all the others are designed to be more comfortable. That matters and adds to the cost of production. R&D is money. And when you are wearing it for an extended period of time, comfort matters; just like that uncomfortable holster. You'll end up not taking the gun along.
