For training:
Pistol: > 100 rounds
Rifle: > 50 rounds

Mostly all done with mags holding a few rounds at a time, so I'm constantly reloading and changing mags.

For having fun with friends:
Pistol:150-300 rounds
Rifle:200-400 rounds.

I like to train often (Like at least twice a week) with minimal ammo. And have fun shooting trips once every blue moon or so.

Depends on what the focus is. Defensive training is usually 200-300 rounds, but I've fired well over a 1,000 rounds in a single session while training for a 3-gun tournament.

For standard trips to keep the edge sharp, 25 per centerfire rifle, 30 per handgun, 50 per rimfire firearm. For me, more than that is making noise and wasting lead. I usually go to the range 2x a month.

50 rds of .45
50 rds of 9mm
30 rds of .357 magnum
30-50 rds of .223

with .22lr maybe 300 rounds since i have both pistol and rifle in that caliber

Wife and I typically shoot 100 rounds with each of our carry weapons each week plus 100 rounds with which ever handguns we are shooting that day just for fun. We go to the range every other week.

So our bi-weekly minimum is 600, but more often 800
