Should I buy this used sig p220?

A friend of a friend has offer me a used Sig sauer p220 standard .45acp (plain jane/no rail) in great condition. Comes with 6 mags and 2 grip sets.
He's not the original owner and told me he shoots it alot...so lets just assume 2000+ round count but brags he never had a ftf or fte. I wanna buy this Sig but I was saving my cash for a Star PD .45
he'll only sell it to me or his friends in the event he want to buy it back in a few years, as he lost his job and needs cash.
Anyways $525 is the lowest I talked him down...lol I'm broke too.
Is this one of those no brainer deals? what do you think?

I got my West German 220 for $600. Original owner (from CG) whith about 1500 rounds. 2 mags and 1 set of grips. If his is in good condition, I say go for it man. I like mine. Feel free to pm more questions. Good luck and enjoy it!

Sounds like a great deal to me, just do an inspection and if its clean and the gun shoots well for you, fits your hand, and you like it, I say go for it. 2000 rounds isn't that much. Great price along with extra Sig mags that are on the more expensive side.

Thanks for the post shoupdawg, This helps! I just tought of it right now,if I where to buy those mags and grips seperatly...it'll cost around $275 if I bought'em new.
That leave the pistol cost for $250 minus the ppt & dros.

If he hasn't had a ftf or fte he really hasn't been shooting it that much. Even the best will malfunction from time to time.

Hmmm... a Star .45 or a Sig P220? I'd go with the Sig. It is a deal but if you don't want it then maybe you should save for what you really want.

You'll be very happy with the 220. Just make sure to check it out to make sure he kept care of it. You can also send it to Sig to get serviced however that's more $$.

sounds a little sketchy, if the guy never wants it back or you want to sell it down the road then cool, but you don't want to buy it, the guy comes up on cash a couple months down the road and then starts bugging you to sell it back to him because "it was part of the deal"
