Years ago, I remember a guy who wanted a custom license plate with the initials of the company he either owned or was the CEO of:
"Tustin Institute of Technology." DMV gave him the plate, then made him return it. Their letter said something like, "I'm sure you can understand why we can't allow a license plate that reads T.I.T."

A crude double entendre may be “clever” to some but is certainly not a professional name for a business.

I spoze T&A Arms would be okay if you want to attract Leisure Suit Larry types.

Personally I'm a bit repulsed by anything with "tactical" in the name, or names that are too cutsey. Subtle humor works, ferinstinz my favorite bar name was The Office.

            "Where're you going?"
            "Just to The Office."

Dunno about The Gun Lobby, sounds like you're trying to antagonize anyone who's not rabidly pro-gun.

I vote for simple & dignified, like the Last Name Arms thang, or maybe Name of City Arms. Depending on your last name, of course.

I don't think those people would be shopping there much anyway. Besides, just think how much free advertising he would get every time an Anti publicly rants about the gun lobby.

My friend owned a boat repair business and he called it "The Wet Spot". Sounded cool, but later changed it because it got the wrong attention.

I wouldn't get funny with a gun store name. Lots of women gun buyers now a days.

Was doing a web search today and read the name "Guns, Holsters and Gear" incorrectly. At first glance I thought it said, "Guns, Hooters and Gear". LOL!

Not because of any personal repulsion, but because of the need to live in a politically correct world.
I have overpaid for MANY items from Grainger simply because I am not going to send a purchase request to the City Manager from "XYZ Tactical" even though they may have it for 3/4 the cost.
Boss and I have both purchased items there for our personal use or gifts for the field technicians, but we aren't going to send the receipts upstairs.

How about "Make my Day" - or "Sudden Impact" unless the phrases have all been trademarked...Clint Eastwood movies would have a lot of great gun store names in them. Wouldn't make liberals too happy though

The potential guns and accessories market consists of more than rabidly pro-gun people. Just look around on this site, there are plenty of members who don't fall into that category, now extrapolate that to the general population.

I wouldn't want to go into a store called The Gun Lobby, because I don't want to hear a bunch of rabble-rousing, even if it's from my side of an issue, and that's what that name portends. Think about all the new shooters, nervous potential shooters, and the liberals who have finally figured out how the predator/prey thing works who wouldn't approach The Gun Lobby if you paid them. Even disregarding the profit motive, we're always talking about how to expand our ranks, and I don't think turning off the gen pop is the way to do it.
