sure, but why would you need one? not like you can buy NFA weapons besides AOW's, and on top of that, Obama's executive order made it even harder. if you still want to go through with it, call Don Kilmer.

The idea was that if any home built firearms, Assualt Weapon, etc cannot be transferrable maybe having a Gun Trust might help.

Just wanted some advice.

See i have this in Alabama, and its a good idea. However, the problem is, will you be able to register the guns to the trust rather than too an individual? My father, who still lives in California, had the same idea and is exploring the options as well. Good luck with it.

Yes the idea is to the trust. I'd hate for someone to tell me I can not transfer any of my firearms to any of my kids or family member.

We'll see.

Everything I own of value is in a trust with my wife and a good friend as executors, it all goes to my son. I in no way trust any state or official to determine the parsing of my assets if I am suddenly not alive.

Well I used an online form that a friend recommended from a law firm in Colorado,. I filled it out, took it to an attorney, paid him I think $600 or so and he went threw it and made sure it was airtight. It includes vehicles, equipment, firearms, suppressors and other NFA stuff, contents of a safe deposit box, etc. and allows there to be no question what happens to my stuff, especially the NFA stuff and guns, should something happen to me. I have a buddy I trust with my life named as an executor in case something happens to me and the wife, and it comes in handy when I have to be in CA and need to leave non-CA compliant stuff somewhere.

I personally think most people need to put thier stuff in a trust so that should something bad happen, your family is not completely at the mercy of some probate court.

There is no reason to make a separate trust in MY case. There is one Trust and it holds everything and I can add or subtract from it as needed, I think it costs me a hundo or so for whatever filing fees are involved. If I buy or sell a vehicle or gun I just update the trust. Easy peasy. My trust was done when only I had to have an ATF BGC for the cans etc., so my wife,son, and buddy were added without having to go through a BGC. Anyone I might add in the future will have to, and I am not sue if I add another can or something if everyone on the trust would have to have a BGC done, so thats something you would need to check into with your lawyer.

Right. Making firearms California legal no matter what. But the transferring is what I'm worried about if it's not in a trust.

You cannot register a CA AW to a trust, as a trust is not an individual. The only way to ever transfer a CA AW in CA is to get rid of all of the features that make it an AW, de-register it, and then transfer it. Once de-registered, it can never be re-registered.
