We moved from California to Oregon a little over a year ago.
I went to my first Oregon gun show yesterday.
WOW!
Free parking, $5 admission, and, GUNS.
No Jerky, no jewelry, no neck massage guys, no Nazi paraphernalia. Just guns and shooting related stuff.
There was one guy, stuck off in a corner, buying "unwanted gold" and I could hear someone demonstrating a Tazer in the other corner. But, otherwise just guns.
Every licensed gun seller was also doing background checks. 10 minutes and if you pass they hand you your gun.
The downside is "Gunshow Prices." Yup. Overpriced ammo and retail gun prices.
Lots of C&R stuff, but, not a single Mosin Nagant. Go figure.
Many M1 Carbines, all over $1000. M1 Garands $1100+. Mausers, Enfields (saw a couple "Jungle Carbines" complete with bayonet), SKSs, Springfield A3s, original and sporterized.
There was the usual assortment of lever-action rifles and shotguns; from single-shot H&R to over-under Berettas.
No shortage of handguns either. Everything made in the past 200 years was represented. Lots of black powder guns and even a few Springfield trapdoor rifles.
No beer or bratwurst, but the Lions Club was there selling coffee and doughnuts.
If not for the prices I would have thought I'd been transported back to the '70s!
