Texas was brought into play because I know of a standard being tossed around which basically says if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it doesnt matter if its dressed as a dog, its still a duck.

the next administration is going to be looking for people to make examples out of because they are firm in their belief the 9thCCOA will rule their way

they are going after work arounds that try to disguise an item by deferring to a function

they are going to hold up a detachable magazine and ask a jury of your peers if they believe it turns into a fixed magazine simply because you uncover the magazine release button and call that disassembly of the action.

there will then be a debate on what is disassembly of the action, does accessing the action equal disassembly? Does the fact the firing pin and BCG get disconnected from the FCG equal disassembly of the action? We of course say , by all means yes it does. Will a OBummer supporter say that? Will the cry babies who voted for Killary Klilton agree with us, or will they look for a way to screw us?

Make no mistake, the next administration is going to push this and I feel CGF is going to be working hard and will need funding.

My opinion is that the lowers were not meant for frequent, repeated opening and closing and that it's going to induce undue stress on the pivot points, to the point of failure is yet to be seen, but probably to the point of the holes for the pivot and takedown pins being bored out and loose so that the upper and lower receiver no longer fit together tightly.
WHY would we need to do this in the 1st place? Can't we remover pistol grip and flash hider to make it "Featureless"?

I didn't realize anyone did sealed magwell ARs back then, given that a pistol grip and detachable mag was legal (as long as you had no other features).

You can go featureless if you want. I'm just saying for those that choose not to go featureless, and instead go fixed magazine.

That's just a bad choice, which doesn't make much sense. If we had no other choices, then yeah...it's fine. But messing with the gun to save other features is already a "Featureless gun". Question is WHAT type of features do you want to take off/keep?

Or just point it upwards and baton the F out of it.. What could go wrong?! Indoor ranges are the preferred location for freeing a stuck bolt in this manner.

You are aware that Clinton didn't win the election...right?

I do understand your point of view, and you have a valid point in that they will try to find any way they can to attack and denigrate us.

I also have some understanding of the way the legal system works (I am not a lawyer, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn once), and as long as we meet the requirements of the law, there isn't a whole lot they can do other than make more laws in the future. This is evidenced by the current bullet button and also the featureless option.

what the law doesnt say hurts us just as much as what it does say.

dozens of legal firearms have been seized and the owners forced to plead guilty to lesser charges rather then fight in court mainly because the defendant was guilty of other things which made the case less likely to win.

we need to see how many FFLs are willing to put out for sale an fully assembled AR15 with ARmagLock type firearm.

What the law doesn't say is generally what helps us the most.

Sadly, our community is being bludgeoned with litigation. They (the anti's) are purposely attacking every chance they get because the intimidation of extensive litigation is enough to make many companies tuck their tails in and run. I see more and more posts on here about "(insert company name) won't ship to California anymore". Whether legal or not, they don't want to risk the expense of fighting it out in court. We should all be thankful for the companies that stick their necks out for us. We should support them every way we can, but first and foremost, we should give them our business.

I always envisioned the pivot holes ovalizing out, similar to the head tube on a bike.
