Best for Home Defense

I am not 21 yet so cannot use a pistol for home defense. I have numerous rifles and for Home Defense as of now I use my mini 14 but I am not sure how to attach a white light to it unlike my Ar's that have rail attachments. Same with my Ruger pc9 I would also like a white light.

How big is your house? Or do you live in an apartment? I ask because, even at night, there's usually light source in the house (nightlight, porch light, etc) that'll allow you to identify the intruder. And better yet, if there's a bump in the night, why not just turn on the light switch?

Just because you can't buy a pistol from a FFL, doesn't mean you can't possess, own, or use one for HD.

Your house is YOUR haven. Darkness is YOUR friend, in YOUR haven. Use it, and ambiant light sources to advantage.

Is there a question here? How to attach a light to a mini 14? Why don't you use one of your AR's?

Depends a lot on where you live (apartment, ranch, urban neighborhood, ...). Personally- I live in a typical ranch-style house in a typical urban setting with other houses like mine all around me. I keep a 9mm pistol loaded with a spare magazine in a rapid access box/safe and feel well protected with that. Assess your situation carefully and pick the right tool for the job. Practice with that weapon often to stay familiar with it. Good luck.

I'd probably check out aftermarket pic rails that mount in place of sling studs. Eg

I have no experience here, so I have no recommendations. Hopefully a Google search can identify the best products in this niche.

Another option is to find a pic rail that can be screwed into a stock.

And an option for the mini is to get an ultimak scout rail and an angled flashlight mount.

In a dream: a Sawed Off shotgun is perfect. Short so you can whip around. Lethal as hell. Depending on the load you can own them.

Rather than a lite on your gun which shows the perp where you are, install plug-in night lights around your home (just enough for a dim glow).
