You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
Come on...what harm??

That's a good idea, I didn't think to bring a generator. I had a solar generator from the deals forum, but ended up returning it because it wouldn't hold a charge, so back to my trusty gas generator. Not YET, but I'm working on that. We have proposals for bids from solar contractors to set up an off -grid lighting system for the main range as well as some of the larger private bays.
But if you are a full member, you are welcome to bring a generator and your own lights and even camp on your bay if you'd like. I have done both and it is a lot of fun.
I did find some battery powered LED light bars I might give a try, but we'll see how that goes.Comment

I've been shooting there at night several times a month for years using a rechargeable LED worklight at the target and sometimes a small light at the firing line. It works really well with optics and even reasonably well with aperture sights. Just be careful at night to not shoot the Foxes that keep the frog and vermin population under control.Comment

When I ran a night match, we lit individual paper targets with a little LED hocky puck light from harbor freight. That's a good idea, I didn't think to bring a generator. Just use a little rock to prop the light at an angle so it shines on your target.
You put the light 4-5 feet uprange from the target to be able to aim it at the target face.
I see they now offer a much brighter work light with it's own built-in stand:

This was what I had in mind. I was going to pick some up to illuminate the targets and probably a lantern to provide some light around where I'll be shooting so we won't be tripping over stuff in complete darkness. When I ran a night match, we lit individual paper targets with a little LED hocky puck light from harbor freight.

I was up at formerly known as Bay 11 ( the really big wide bay way at the back) years ago with wife and we saw a deer walk thru the upper mountain area. It appeared to want to walk down onto the bay itself, but it saw us and decided against it.Comment

I have been a member since 1999. I have seen some interesting things.
1. Lots of rattlesnakes
2. One year, there were tons of tarantulas. Never happened again.
3. Frogs one year by where the water container is now. Lots of them.
4. One time at the main benches, I had a quail land on my target at 50 yards.
5. Another day, a deer walked across the range near the 100 yard line. We had to wait 30 minutes to get out of the way.Comment

Yup. That's why we can't have really nice things...I can't believe the trash that is left out and the range equipment that is shot at. It's all become more of an issue in the last 5 years or so with the newer members coming in."Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice. Moderation in pursuit of justice is no virtue." ----Sen. Barry Goldwater

No, it really started being a problem when we went from 600 to 900 members when we were raising funds to buy the land.Randall Rausch

I was there one Sunday a few years back and a doe walked out at the 50 yard line just as calm as can be. Needless to say a hearty "cease fire" went out. I was looking out at 100 yards and was surprised to see that doe in so close.Comment
