    Night sites make u target

So I just picked up a Springfield EMP 9mm with the fancy trijicon night sights and saw the sights clearly 40 ft away at night. That got me thinking. If I know where there is an intruder in my home, no problem. The barrel will be pointed in that direction and said intruder will see nothing. But if all I know is that I heard a "bump in he night" and the perp ends up behind or beside me without my knowledge, the bright new sights would give away my position putting the perp at an advantage. Any thoughts? Should I black them out? I've shot 1911's for over 20 years and the muscle memory is there. So in a stressfire situation the sights wouldn't really come into play...

Learn to use a white light. Theres few things more effective than a bright *** light telling you GET THE **** ON THE GROUND OR I WILL KILL YOU.

If you truly want to be concealed and own the night, budget $7,599 for a relatively decent PVS-14 rig

i would also recommend selling the junk EMP for a reliable 1911

Also, muscles dont have ****ing memory. What are you, 80 years old?

You may have overthought your chances of surviving a gunfight with people behind you.

        Turn on the damn lights....

Many years ago while we were out looking for a missing hiker you could see dots all the way up the trail from the sights on everyones duty weapon in their holster. If someone breaks a window and gets into the house I won't worry about them getting behind me because I won't be out looking around the house anyway. The only one behind me will be my wife. Don't worry about the sights, they are the least of your worries at a time like that.

There is a phenomenon where people can't see what they don't know they should be looking for. For example, if you're in line at the DMV and a snake slithered right in through the open door, chances are nobody would see it. Because nobody expects to see a snake at the DMV.

Likewise, there's a video of a bunch of people playing basketball. And you're asked to count how many times the ball is passed in the span of 30 seconds. Walking right through the scene is a dude in a bear costume. But you don't even notice it because you're too busy counting passes and a bear costume is so out of place in that situation, your brain just doesn't even pick it up.

Same thing with your hypothetical. Nobody is going to see your night sights. They are too dim. You saw them because you just got the thing and you were looking for it.

                Ah yes, the Tactical Sharpie.

For when you can't afford to see your night sights at night.

I love opening my safe in the dark and seeing all those beady eyes staring back at me.

                      1. Retreat to your safe area.
                      2. Turn on the lights.
                      3. Call 911.
                      4. Yell out that you have called the police and you are armed.

TBH, if I am behind you, the fight is over.

Hopefullly you get some training and a weaponlight.
Night sights aren't going to help you with anything other than seeing tritium in the dark.
All sights turn black with a light on.
Go ahead and get out of fantasy world and get off the square range.
Get some warren sevigny FOs and a nice light.
Wide rear notch. Skinny front. Green on pistol. Red on carbine.

Fiber optic vs night sights at night.

Fiber optic vs HD night sights.

Install tritium night sights around your bedroom as if they were decoration = profit???
