Turlock Gun Show

On a "nothing to do" weekend is there any way to make a 2 hr drive from SF to the Turlock Gun Show worthwhile? Never been to that show, is it similar to Cow Palace? Note: Being similar is not a good thing. Small venue, large? I guess free parking is a plus.

Bass Pro is on the way, Elite Arms in Manteca also. Any other gun stores in the Tracy, Modesto Manteca area that would make it worth the drive?

I've been to it a few times in the past few years, but I'm usually heading home within an hour. There are usually a few booths for flashlights, taser flashlights, really bright flashlights, super duper flashlights as bright as a thousand suns, a few tables of beat up rifles, some over priced ammo, and at least one booth selling imitation medieval weaponry.

Dust Bowl is usually busy, so they must be good. Check out Alquist Arms while you're in town, mind you they usually have a wait.

I have not been to a gun show here in Turlock since the 90's.

I've been to a few, last one two years ago. Never bought anything, prices were high and selection nothing to write home about. Would not drive two hours for it, put who knows maybe much better this year.
